Omitting a motor cuts about 20% off the Taycan price compared to the least-expensive AWD Taycan in China. Were the same math to apply here, the Taycan RWD would start at around $85,000. Queried by American outlets about the chance of this Taycan gliding our way, Porsche North America would only say "This variant is still in consideration for the USA."

I didn't see any newer information than what's in this article.

I think you are going to be better off following the e-tron GT if you are looking for a "budget" Taycan

the e-tron GT will be €140,000. It will not be a poor mans Taycan, it will be Audi’s crack at “Taycan”

If I had to guess you'll probably see an announcement in Q2 of 2021 for a NA release date. Probably won't start orders until Q3 of 2021 or maybe even when MY22' cars come out.

Again, just my guesses based on other models.

I was originally going to buy one of these and then the Taycan came out first. I am anxious to see the full production version. I don’t know if images have been released yet. The above still looks pre-production.

The price. Everything I‘ve seen about the car is indicating around £100,000, without the usual Audi extras. Better off with the 4S if that’s the case. . . .

Same, I keep seeing the Audi GT thrown around as a cheaper option than the Taycan, but everything points to this thing starting around $100k US, and it can be optioned to death just like a Porsche and I suspect pricing will be similar in the end.

I'm interested in seeing what the final product is, like many of us here, but unless it has some goodies in it that the Taycan doesn't have, or is an overall better package deal, I can't see it outselling even the base 4S. Maybe if it comes with trim speeds akin to Turbo and Turbo S at a steep discount, it might be worthwhile.

Knowing VAG group, I would bet that the top Audi version will sit price- and performance-wise between the 4S and the turbo, the mid-range between the RWD Taycan and the 4S, and the entry level below the RWD. All will have fewer options than the Taycan, but will be very well appointed cars even if they will miss on the myriad of custom options from Porsche. It will be an awesome car, and probably as successful for Audi as the Taycan is for Porsche. Go EVs!

I wanted the RWD version but went for the 4 S in case the EV tax credit is withdrawn next year.
