To our members:

We'll be launching a forum for the 718 EV and wanted everyone's opinion --

Would you prefer that it be part of a comprehensive Porsche EV site (which will include the sections from this site and you'll have one single member/user account) or would you prefer to see a standalone 718 EV site/forum.

Thanks for your feedback!
definitely
One site with clear subsections and auto redirect depending on your Porsche EV fancy.

Crap that’s awesome - it would be amazing if they released a fixed and convertible top from the get go but prob a stretch! I’ll bet the car won’t be too far off the images shown here too (the convertible rendering a bit imaginative though :)).

Whilst then Taycan ticks almost all the boxes for me, just width and weight more than ideal, the one area I am sticking to an IC engined car is my sports car where the idea of a screaming engine, 3 pedals and 6 on the floor have some appeal.
IMHO.

I am sure a 718 EV will be a stupendous car but whilst the idea of a car with soul and a screaming engine is bonkers for me in a saloon or estate car one uses for a multitude of tasks it seems it has mucho appeal in an open 2-seater used for fun.

The “best” car isn’t always the most fun.

High revving multi cylinder normally aspirated engine isn’t as efficient as low revving few cylinder high boost turbo but does sound an awful lot better and have better throttle response.

Super sophisticated stability control is very impressive and clever but give me a limited slip diff and leave the rest to me for fun.

etc :)

The only non EV Porsche that interests me is the GT3/GT3RS for the same reasons you mentioned.
NA, 9000 revs symphony is very appealing.
Dual clutch, forced induction is what pushed me to BEV.

A Lotus Exige with a GT3 power train would be a dream
