Model Year: 2020
Concerns: Replacement requirement for high-voltage battery cell module
Cause: If cell modules of the high-voltage battery are required for replacement, only cell modules
from model year 2021 (M) onward will be available for Taycan vehicles for model year 2020
(L), which will also still be used in vehicles from model year 2021 (M).
In order to be able to use the modified cell modules (4M cells) on vehicles of model year 2020 (L) in
a mixed installation with the previous cell modules (B1.7+ cells), the software release 1603 must be
available on the control unit for the high-voltage battery (BMCe). Additionally, the PR number ST5 - mixed
installation B1.7+/4M cell chemistry must be set in the vehicle data in the case of a mixed installation of
cell modules in order to be able to identify the vehicles accordingly.
Information
This only applies to vehicles in which the original high-voltage battery is still installed (vehicles without
set PR No. ST3 - Installation of 4M cell in the vehicle data). If a high-voltage battery with modified cell
modules (4M cells) has already been installed in the vehicle, this requirement is not relevant since mixing
installation can no longer occur in this case. These vehicles must be identifiable using PR No. ST3 -
Installation of 4M cell in the vehicle data.

For replacement of entire battery on 2020 Taycan, see separate TSB linked in this post: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...bserve-specified-procedure-aug-19-2022.13833/

Interesting!

I would love to know if this is the repair they did on my car in September.

Maybe this mixed cell variety throws the CarScanner SoH off completely??

This also confirms again that Porsche have changed the Chemistry in the battery over the years.

Does this mean all damaged high voltage batteries of 2020 model will get replacement with the new battery chemistry?

2020 HV batteries needing repair by replacement of individual modules will get modules from 2021 or later. The TSB in original post above does not address the situation of replacing the entire original HV battery in a 2020 Taycan.
But the TSB linked in this post does indicate 2020 HV batteries will be replaced with 2021 or later versions: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...bserve-specified-procedure-aug-19-2022.13833/
