Porsche Connect Application

At the dealer now. They cannot figure out why the app connects to the car when awake, and why it is not after it goes to deep sleep. This morning as I was getting ready to come to the service, I noted I had connection while the car was pre-conditioning as programmed. 15 minutes later, connection is gone. Sam=e behavior at the dealer - stepping out of the car it's on, as soon as car goes to deep sleep no connection again. They cleared one antenna error message, no help. Will probably end with a ticket sent to Germany....

Will try to circumvent by setting another profile to precondition around the time I leave work.

The only good thing about today is that I caught up on my emails, and I admired the light blue Taycan in person - looks really nice. Incidentally, that car also has a connection issue....

This is your captain speaking . We have a software malfunction and we have lost power in all engines. The software was designed by Porsche so don't worry, We will be making a controlled landing into the ocean please fasten your seatbelts. Have a nice day and remember Porsche is dedicated to superior service and software

I tried the Connect app a few minutes ago on my Android phone. I can connect without a problem. There is one red segment because the car is currently 1000 miles away and I'm on a different wifi network. The car should be in a deep sleep since I haven't used it since last Friday.

I purchased my Taycan 4 weeks ago and cannot get the Connect Application on my iPhone to work. This is what Porsche sent me, Is this correct we have to pay for the application to work on a new car? Dealer clueless as is Porsche customer support. Customer support informs me they show the Connect service application in "process" but Porsche NA says I have to pay a fee but there is no listing or even a way to pay a fee even if I wanted to.

Thank you for the patience you have shown during this time. Per the our specialist's investigations, it was concluded that your services have not been purchased. Connect Services will not be available until the purchases of those features have been made. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, and hope you have a wonderful day.

After giving up with Porsche customer support and Connect support I used my PR skills to send an email to top execs at Porsche and their PR executives. I advised them of the issues on 10/10/20, I explained how terrible the support was and how no one at Porsche support understands the Connect Application. I advised them I was going to utilize my PR skills to notify thru bloggers and news outlets how poor the support and training is at Porsche. On 10/12/20 Porsche fixed all my Connect issues!
They sent me a very similar message:

"Thank you for contacting Porsche. We are apologetic for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Your PCNA Case: XXXXXXX was thoroughly investigated. As a result, we have found that your card needs to be added onto your My Porsche Account Profile to register for the charging app. The current card on file is used for if you go over minutes offered at those stations. If you are having any issues pertaining Electrify America, you will need to contact them.
"

Note the "Thoroughly Investigated" part... A couple of things worth noting:

1. This particular case has nothing to do with Porsche Charging Services. (It was about not being able to log in to my Porsche Portal to access the online web based services for my car. As it turns out this is the issue where they mysteriously redirect USA customers to the GB servers. But I digress...)

2. Oh, and, My Effing Credit card ***IS*** Effing "on file" and has been since a week before I took delivery of my Effing car!!! (I logged in to confirm this anyway)

Looks like they are just spewing crap out to anyone who files a problem. This week must be "your credit card is not on file week"!

So much for Porsche's "Thorough Investigations"! Hooray for Porsche Customer Service!

The guys at the dealership were super-nice, tried everything - reset this, reset that, clear the error logs. Nothing. They called the sister dealership, their instructors - no luck. Plan is to have one last ditch here in US then submit a ticket to Porsche Germany.

It has to be a software issue, as the car connects almost instantly when it is awake. I programed now a second timer for around 5:30 pm so I can turn remote conditioning on at that time, and hope that I will actually leave before 6:30 when the timer expires. Unfortunately that is a waste of energy and obviously inconvenient. As far as the weather is not too bad, I can deal with it. But when winter comes, this must work.

Also @Tayzilla posted on this forum that his dealer in Netherlands replaced a control unit and reset the COM box. I showed the post to the service people - they went back at work and returned saying they cannot find a COM box.....

I will wait and see what the dealer can do - give them a chance to fix it.
