Was wondering when Apple would start integrating with EVs to take over or support the map/charge/range functions, to allow you to use Apple Maps instead of the native navigation in the EV (which integrates with charging and planning on a road trip). Seems like the next iteration of Apple Maps, and will keep Car Play relevant as EVs expand in popularity.

"we already have apple carplay and we will build on that" :CWL:

as if this is a major milestone! this whole article makes me laugh and frankly feel a little ashamed at the lack of technical prowess that I feel Porsche has after reading this

This is just PR fluff that they have been recycling since last few years. Don’t read much into it.

I’m hoping that Porsche partners with Apple to improve the software on the PCM. That would be a welcome bit of news. Hell, maybe we’ll even get some real OTA software updates to improve the user experience.

The whole Apple car project just got shut down…again. Unlikely Porsche will get anything tangible from this exercise.
