They are charging a lot for using their car but I would be quite fearful of taking mine on a track as I’ve not done track driving before. Are there temporary insurance policies which cover track use for my own car and are they cheaper than the £940 Porsche rental charge?
I assume so (hopefully one of our more experienced trackers can advise), but I've come to think that hiring one of the SEC's cars is actually relatively cheap- this track day car hire specialist charges from £1200 (MX5) to £2000 (Cayman or M2) per day- and that doesn't include the track session cost, instructor or any form of catering (the SEC's parade of dishes is a stark contrast)-

The other thing is that if you use your own car on a track like Silverstone, you'll lose quite a lot of track time waiting for it to recharge and cool down enough to deliver full power again, whereas the SEC might perhaps make available a second vehicle while the first one is recharging.

Hi- got my track day experience tomorrow. Will have had the car 3 years in December but covid delayed then kinda forgot about it!

Quick q on charging as my range won’t make it round. Can you get a fee charge there?

Anyone face any issues booking Silverstone Porsche Driving Experience due to voucher being more than 24/30mths? (Also if you’ve 2 vouchers as I’ve bought 2 Taycans can you book 2 free places for yourself and a friend same day?)

I don't think there are vouchers as such for the "free" (included in the new vehicle purchase price) experience, just that "Your experience is valid for two years from your original invitation date".

My voucher was expired (24 months), then gave me an extra 6 months. Went yesterday, had a blast.

just back from a morning at PEC and it was an absolute blast.

good thing it was the morning session because after launches and hard breaking at the end of the session, I'm not sure I'd have kept much in!

great day overall.. the driver's knowledge and advise was impactful and could see improvements even after a few a few quick laps.

They seem to be having issues with the kick plate and that wasn't operational, but there was so much to do that it didn't detract from the day.

Had taken the Mrs along and the breakfast and lunch was top class... the time just flew past and I'd consider going again.

now just a few more weeks (hopefully) for the car to arrive.

After not being in a taycan since my initial test drives when I ordered 13 months ago, its really whetted the appetite for my car's arrival.

I heard in September that they were waiting for the technician to come over from Germany to fix it...sounds familiar, it must use Taycan technology.

My wait was so long I was considering cancelling my order but the Silverstone day was a good reminder why I placed the order in the first place.
