I assume so (hopefully one of our more experienced trackers can advise), but I've come to think that hiring one of the SEC's cars is actually relatively cheap- this track day car hire specialist charges from £1200 (MX5) to £2000 (Cayman or M2) per day- and that doesn't include the track session cost, instructor or any form of catering (the SEC's parade of dishes is a stark contrast)-They are charging a lot for using their car but I would be quite fearful of taking mine on a track as I’ve not done track driving before. Are there temporary insurance policies which cover track use for my own car and are they cheaper than the £940 Porsche rental charge?

The other thing is that if you use your own car on a track like Silverstone, you'll lose quite a lot of track time waiting for it to recharge and cool down enough to deliver full power again, whereas the SEC might perhaps make available a second vehicle while the first one is recharging.
