Porsche electric sport sound YES/NO?

I have been contemplating adding the electric sport sound option to my taycan.
would you guys recommend it for just under USD1,000 or is it not worth it?

In the US it was part of the performance package so I have it on my car. Also, FWIW, in the US it's a $500 stand alone option.

Anyway, I've used it a few times and it's kind of fun but mostly I leave it turned off. Bottom line, if it wasn't already part of the performance package I would have been on the fence for the $500 it would have cost me here. For $1000, I would definitely have passed.

Sport sound being on or off has nothing to do with sound heard outside of the car. Per EU regulations, the car makes an artificial engine noise when backing or driving below 12 mph to warn pedestrians.

I don't have sport sound and you can still hear from inside the house that very distinct electrical sound from the motors when the car accelerates and brakes.

Yes it is quieter on both the outside and inside when the sport sound is off.

I didn't like in on my test drives, so I didn't order it. I find the car makes enough sound as is.

I guess I’m the atypical Porsche owner, but I never understood the fascination/correlation between speed and loud/annoying noise. It’s possible to go fast (in an ICE) without sounding like half of the exhaust system got left behind on a speed bump.

Living on a long stretch of country road frequented by speeding motorcycles only helps to reinforce that opinion for me.

Frankly, I wouldn't pay for it. It's ridiculous to charge $500+ for an MP3 file creating a Star Wars sound effect. Half the time when I'm driving my car I think it's on anyway and when I go to turn it off I discover it's not turned on as the car sounds fantastic even then. It's only optioned on my car because it was part of the Premium Package. If it was á la carte I would most assuredly skip it.

I think this question can't be answered by others.
What if everyone likes yellow? Would you pick yellow as the color of your car?
Just go test drive one with Sport Sound and if you like it, buy it.
If you don't like it, still buy it, in case you regret it.
Just like music, it's too personal to give you any opinion.
I love it though.

First thing I turn on soon as I enter the car. Everyone that’s stepped in the car has commented on how cool the sound is. Go for it.
