Since I did not order the Porsche Electric Sport Sound for my car, I am wondering how easy (or difficult) it will be to add to my 4S.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/sku9j1pse.html

The note in the description that caught my eye was the fact that " Dealer installation and activation is required, additional components may be required for some models." I pretty much get the dealer installation piece given that the eSound amplifier is a separate control unit in the car (sadly mine was just replaced under warranty!) and likely needs additional integration points with the PCM. But additional components may be required? RATS!

Guess I'll just have to live with the "standard" eSound for now!

It’s on a par with Mr Musk‘s log fires and fart noises.

Put me in the minority, but as a former Tesla owner with a teenage son, I can tell you being able to replace the turn signal ticking sound with random flatulence is good for hours of endless entertainment with teenage boys. Is it silly? Yes. Could those software engineers have done something more useful in the hours spent? Yes. Am I glad they did it anyway? Yes.

Has been discussed in this thread... I'm in Canada, and was quoted 9-11 hours of labour and $900-$1,000 in parts... two speakers, a control box and wiring... crazy expensive..

I like the sports sound and want to retrofit it... looks at ways of doing it myself... how hard can it be? I assume I'll need the dealership to program something...

Aftermarket solutions I'm looking into... using their equipment and loading the Porsche sounds... not sure how it will work with the existing factory pedestrian warning sounds... if it'll clash... not cheap...

I think he is saying he doesn’t have sport sound and is thinking if he can load the sport sound on to this system so he can have sport sound.
