I also never invest in individual stocks, but since I own a Taycan I guess you could say I'm already investing in Porsche ;)

Would you invest in Porsche as a public company?
Will the brand be diluted?

IMO Ferrari going public diluted the brand.

VW confirms plan to list Porsche sports-car brand
This will only serve to increase the costs of developing technology and new vehicles….which is currently shared across VAG. Makes little sense to me from an investment standpoint and potentially less sense as a customer too. I know that they make a lot of money per vehicle but they also spend a lot to get there.

You make very good points that I agree with

I see Porsche as the R&D arm of VAG that recoups the cost by sharing with the rest of the family.
J1 being a small example by selling a piece to Audi for the E-Tron GT.
Sharing and scale is more important than ever

I never invest in stocks, only real estate. Now, I can't pretend to know anything about IPO and why they did it but I do know they must had to have done it for a reason they think will be better for the general good of the company; or at least they believe it will be better. Porsche is a valuable brand and as long as it is managed correctly.

IMO, not the right time for an IPO or investment in individual stocks.
