I just got my NEMA 14-50 installed and set up my Porsche charger.

I am seeing charge rates of 8.91 kW - I was expecting 9.6 kW - is this consistent with what others get?

Interestingly the mileage estimate remains 0.4 mpm as it did on the Tesla HPWC with TeslaTap (which got around 10.6 kW)

I'm getting 0.4 mpm as well ~9kW.
14-50 plug on 60-amp circuit with factory Porsche charger.

8.91kW sounds reasonable given that there's always loss depending on where you measure.

I have a JuiceNet charger running off of a Nema 14-50 as well, and according the JuiceNet numbers, my charger is dumping about 9.4kW. I don't remember what my Taycan showed, but I think it was like yours where it was registering in the high 8s.

I would chalk this one up the Taycan measuring the charging speed right at the battery and the .5kW difference is just due to the charging loss.

this is correct - the charger is pulling 9.6 kw at the plug 240 volts at 40 amps - that results in about 8.91 kw being delivered to the battery after ac/dc conversion losses

this is all 100% normal

Yup, I’m seeing the same thing when I use the PMCC. 8.91 in the car and 9.6 on the charger screen.

I see anywhere from 16.4kW to 17kW on an 18kW EVSE, always showing 0.7 mpm.

The 0.4 mpm not changing is likely due to the low resolution. The 10.6kW is probably a “high” 0.4 while the 8.9kW is probably a “low” 0.4.

if you “tap” on the 0.4 mpm display in vehicle you’ll get the Kw display which I personally find more informative…

#.# mpm - could‘ve porsche choose a more obscure and less intuitive metric?

I guess joules per fortnight might be less useful than what they choose, but not by much.

Well, they could have used calories which is an energy unit, and inform you that your car is charging at a rate of ~8M Calories per hour :)

At that point, I just assume see Twinkies per minute.

But switch to an analog display. Like sport chrono.

Keep it classy.
