First step on drivers ed - Porsche Precision.

Fantastic experience with great tutours, nice people, beautiful cars and incredible weather (Scandinavia-wise anyway).

2 days leaves a lasting impression, and lots of new knowledge imprinted.

Car is great on track, but very heavy. Eats up rubber.
No issues keeping up with 911 Turbo S's.

End of day 2 was a bit much for the amount of Taycans, chargers, battery temp and heavy driving.

But, EV tracking is in it's infancy and this is a great start. I'm leaning more and more towards Mission R (718 GT4 ePerf) when it comes out...!

Our paths crossed again. Performance is even more fun, less Taycans and no charging issues. New tiers ordered.

I did the Porsche Performance single day at Silverstone UK last year and got hooked to track days. I've done about 15 now in my Turbo S and it takes it in its stride. Initially, it was really hard on tyres but, much like the F1 drivers, I am learning the techniques to conserve them, such as reducing speed going into the corner (whilst taking the best line) and accelerate earlier out to stop scrubbing the tyres. I am also not convinced by the PZero Electrec that come as standard on the 21s as they really do wear easily. There is also a skill to conserving the battery temperature as above 55 deg C it starts to power limit.

nice!
doesn't the latest MY / GTS have some more advanced track lap timing than old school manual stop watch? Track precision app should work and some more in the PCM Sport Chrono section?

Have the precision app but "Taycn currently not supported" :(

Would have loved more analysis.

I have bought myself a Garmin Catalyst. This unit films and records data from when you do a track session. It then assesses you and gives advice on braking, apexes, and acceleration. The advice is based on your best performance, not on an anonymous racing driver. It even builds an optimal lap using video to demonstrate where you can improve. Expensive at £900 though.
