Prior Design is no stranger to tuning electric vehicles. We’ve seen a few EVs modified by the multi-brand tuning company, mostly Tesla models, but this Porsche Taycan is a first for the studio. In fact, Prior Design recognizes the Taycan as the “the perfect platform for a vehicle simply predestined for tuning.”

Looking at the photo gallery attached below, this project can be best described as a typical Prior Design job. It adds a complete widebody kit to the Taycan’s already aggressive appearance and even further emphasizes its sporty nature with a massive fixed wing at the back.

As one would expect from the Kamp-Lintfort-based firm, the car gets wide fenders with additional air openings at the front. Thanks to these body extensions, the Taycan is now 60 mm wider at the front and some 100 mm at the back. The German specialists promise the electric sedan will “turn heads wherever it appears” - but whether that’s for good or bad, we can’t tell.

The wider fenders are complemented by a set of more aggressive side skirts plus matching 22 inches, multi-piece, five-twin spoke wheels. Last but not least, there are diffusers for both bumpers giving the tuned Taycan an even lower overall stance.

Prior Design says all the components can be produced by a high-quality carbon. Also, a slightly less dramatic body kit will be offered too, ditching the wider fenders for a more restrained appearance. Pricing and availability details are available upon request.

For me personally.. it looks too much like it is stuck on top of the original body (which it obviously is) and too crazy. Perhaps their "restrained" version will be more my thing :)

If they made an aerodynamic kit that was... actually aerodynamic, that would be very cool.

The side vents are blocked and useless. That makes me twitch.

I guess I want a beautiful, FUNCTIONAL, car. Let me swap that, I want a car that was designed to be functional and is still beautiful.

Race cars are beautiful to me because they are pure function with a purpose. This bodykit is pretend. This is false. This is a lie.

“She looks good from far. But far from good.”

That is my opinion. Your opinion should differ... because it’s yours.

That is one of the things I liked about my Nissan GTR when I bought it. Every crease and intake is there for a purpose. It is not the nicest looking car, but every design element serves a functional purpose. Even the crease on the roof was there to reduce drag.

The same with my BMW i8. All of the curves and vents were functional. I laughed whenever anyone glued on a crazy, showy bodykit. I asked the developers “Can you show me the wind tunnel testing? How does this improve the functionality of the car’s aero?” You could hear crickets.

I have to agree with a number of posters. I love functionality when it's made beautiful. This looks very cheap to me - like a Fast and Furious car where some body shop went crazy and stuck on a bunch of useless parts.

Also agree... Yeah it is kind of fun to look at briefly and then your rational head thinks... nutty. Probably reduces your range by 50 % LOL..
