Its just a bit smaller than the key, about 10mm shorter, bit thinner. How come the tracker has a fob. My merc with a tracker doesn’t have a fob? Is this standard on all Taycan?

Yes the Porsche built in tracker has a separate fob that is a bit of a pain as it’s just a small awkward shaped block. My last tracker had a fob but it fitted into my wallet.

Yup - all Porsche's with PVTS has a clunky fob - wife's Cayenne same.

I skipped the tracker for just this reason. I don’t understand why you need to carry two tags (key and fob) it’s kind of redundant.

The key should identify me as an authorised user.

2 factor authentication is usually something you have and something you know.

In any respect, kind of related, but not... I made a key holder for my wife’s key last night (otherwise buttons get pressed randomly in her handbag)

Yes, it’s very 1990s, which actually is likely if it’s that old Vodafone tech. Surely when the car has comfort access tech we should be able to use an RFID card in our wallet or even our smartphones as a token.

Hey Michael,

A fellow member posted a link to these guys who make bespoke leather items. They made the leather key ring pouch for the Fob, increases the size but at least it won't go missing. Cost me £49.00 +Carriage they will make it ain any colour etc. When I called up they knew what I was talking about as they have had numerous orders.

I think next to each other in 2 separate pouches, made a tight fit and joined together down the middle. This would fit better in a jeans pocket.

There could be a cut out on the top of the key pouch for the buttons.

And just take all key rings off the keys.

What happens if you don't take your PVTS+ fob with you?

You get a call from Porsche/Vodafone to see whether you're aware of the car moving without the tracker being within it.

If you are aware (and it's most likely you've forgotten the fob), they will cancel the notification on their system.

If you aren't aware and you car is being stolen, they'll immobilize the car and ask police to recover.
