PTS Paint to Sample Taycans in Rubystone Red and Mint Green

Love those 2 colours. Suspect they would look sensational outside in the sunshine!

£6k for a colour choice seems ridiculous to me but perhaps that’s a Porsche thing? Does it really cost them much to change the colour? Would have imagined it’s all automated and just a flick of a config setting on the computer?

I should imagine they charge that amount because it does take longer to build the car as a bespoke paint job; and from what I can tell, PTS adds more value to vehicles as often they are one-of-a-kind... Unless it's Voodoo Blue, which seems to be the most popular PTS colour.

Probably just a cash grab. The exclusivity people will pay for and the price keeps it exclusive.

A lot of parts like the mirrors, spoilers and other trim pieces come painted from their suppliers – so choosing a PTS colour means Porsche has to co-ordinate that colour part being ready exactly at the right time on the assembly line.

This is one of the main reasons that PTS choices can lengthen build times.

If that is true, why can't we order Mission E wheels in PTS and interior trim in body color in PTS while you can from the regular palette. I am sure someone will pay obscene prices for this (don't look at me that way !)

Today i saw that Taycan is going green! Green mobility on PTS. Also other colours at same dealer in Knokke. Fantastic to see them live.

I have a question about PTS. I understand that special or custom colors can cost more (I’m sure a lot of variables in the manufacturing process are valid reasons) but does anyone know why Porsche would make a “standard” color option (I realize there’s a relatively small upcharge) for a color like Chalk and move it into the PTS pallet as reported for Oct this year? Is this a cash grab because it’s popular or is this a move to reduce the orders for it to make it more exclusive? Appreciate any insights from some of the Porsche aficionados out there.
