Got lucky. Was in the office of the GM at my local dealer within a week of the announcement and he had one firm allocation. Sat there yapping around and configuring it but told him I was definitely interested. Mulled over the decision for 3 weeks, and he said he turned away about a half dozen inquiries in the meantime (maybe BS but judging by the people on this forum scrambling for allocations... believable).
Anyways, now the wait begins. Hope CARB approves the car without too much delay, and the worldwide shortage of chips doesn't affect the assembly of the car. Excited!!! ...but also crossing my fingers.
