Looking at the VINs it must be affecting a small amount of cars, right?

I received letter today from Porsche UK on the Safety Recall for my 21 4S.

Bit of a pain as I'd had mine back at the OPC 2 weeks ago for the software updates.

Booked in at OPC Glasgow next Friday for the work

Update – booked into OPC Glasgow today for the above recall spoke to them at time of booking and at drop off on how long they need the car for, was told back the same day.

Got a phone call today from them after it being in at the workshop, apparently, they need to book it in for 4 days and the battery needs to come out to get into the recall parts on the axle.

The Q I have is why this isn’t known ahead of time, they have your VIN on the car when booking, Porsche know the recall and issue, why is it then a “surprise” to the dealership that this takes 4 days?

All sounds like lack of communication, failure to prepare and know what the latest recalls actually are and general all round poor service.

Car now needs to be booked in again in 2 weeks’ time this time for 4 days to carry out the recall.

Has anyone else on the forum had this recall on their Taycan? I am very nervous of the work involved and the dealer screwing up the battery removal to get into replacing the treaded joints at fault, god knows what other gremlins may now appear in the car with the full battery removed and then stuck back together…

Pretty annoyed at the whole experience…:angry::swear:

Bump.

No one else on the forum impacted by the recall? Maybe I just got unlucky.

Does disconnecting the main hv battery cause Porsche connect settings and all configurations to be lost and required to be setup again, does anyone know? I really do suspect that I’m going to be left with lots of niggles post the dealer removing the main battery.

my 4s 21 model is also affected , yet to book it in but interested to see how you get on , I’m also based in Glasgow but use Perth Porsche as this is where I purchased vehicle. Will be booking it in this week and was going to try Glasgow Porsche , as much closer but didn’t like there attitude when purchasing vehicle.
would you recommend them for aftersales ?? Do they give you a Porsche loaner ?? TIA

Their after sales is Ok in my opinion, unsure what other OPC’s have in terms of Taycan specialists but they only seem to have 1 in the service department apparently. I hope he is good ! they did fix issues with Porsche connect in the car not logging in when I picked the car up, they did have to liaise with Germany Hq to fix it and took them 2 days is my only other experience thus far on the taycan as mine has been fine with no niggles other than this recall.
they offered a loan car but would have been a longer wait, I declined as can get by with my wife’s car whilst the taycan is getting worked on and we are working from home.

How you getting on with the suspension recall ? Had mine in at Glasgow for two days ,they didn’t know much about it and gave me car back saying parts on back order from Germany don’t know when they will be in ?. Good service , updates and loaner but not fixed ?
TIA

Mine was in for 4 days a month or so back, they were able to complete the recall work... I say that not knowing what they actually did as it's an issue you can't see/confirm :) but yes got the car back and it's been fine since ?

Here is the NHTSA web site for the 2021 4S, there have been 2 recalls for that model. I don’t know whether these recalls affect only certain VINs.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2021/PORSCHE/TAYCAN%25204S/4%2520DR/AWD#recalls

That same web address also lists communications between NHTSA and the mfg; there have been 70. I assume these are Service Bulletins.

NHTSA has an Safer Car app that you can download to receive notifications of recalls:
