I'm on the cusp of converting my 911 C4S allocation to a Turbo. Wound up getting a great price (btw, if anyone is still looking for one, PM me, I work with many porsche dealerships and connect you with someone for best pricing).

I'm a lot more familiar with the 911 options then Taycan, but if I place the Taycan Turbo order, it locks in a few days, so if someone can help spot check it to see if I missed anything obvious (ie: I almost missed the heated steering wheel). Thank you!

Power mirrors?
LED matrix headlights?
heated steering wheel?

Those are inexpensive options that are worth getting in my opinion. I would add heads up display, I think it’s awesome, and miss it because it wasn’t available in my 2020 build. The power charge port doors are nice to have too. It gives you the minor convenience of not having to shut the door when you unplug from your charger. It closes itself when you start the car.

Good feedback, thank you. Heated steering wheel I added (almost missed it the first time). Power mirrors I surprisingly never used in my Panamera (I disabled that feature, but worth a thought). I had a heads-up display on a previous car (Audi S6), worth a thought as well - I think it was useful.

" The power charge port doors are nice to have too. It gives you the minor convenience of not having to shut the door when you unplug from your charger."

I'm new to all of this - can you walk me through this? Without it, why do I have to shut the door to unplug?

I took a look, and here is my suggestion: http://www.porsche-code.com/PMTWH539

In addition to the link above you could perhaps also consider the litle nicer Oela-option wich also include leather on the backrest. Regarding head up display, personally I think the design around the dashboard is nicer without (also I believe the info on the main display is plenty already).

Regarding the mirrors, they also fold in when you lock the car. I like that, but could easily live without it.

Regarding the doors, I'm talking about after you unplug. You pull the charging cable out and get into the car, you don't have to shut the charging door. A very very small convenience, but worth mentioning. They're also just kind of cool. But like the folding mirrors, it's something you can easily live without.

And regarding the head up display, a lot of members here on the forum don't like the way it looks with the redesigned dashboard. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. Since you've had it, you probably know what I mean about the value of HUD. It's great for just seeing your speed alone. I don't like having to glance down at the dash display to see my speed.

Another thing - is soft close doors an option? I thought that was going to be offered in 2021. I really miss having that. Many times I've neglected to shut the door all the way after putting groceries in the car, or something, and I have to get out and walk around to shut the door after the car warns me when I start it up.

I loved soft closer doors on my Panamera and that's the one feature we miss on my wife's GLS (couldn't find one with it). I couldn't find it as an option for the Taycan.

Thanks! Yes, I had Oela and just took it off. Back and forth on it, it's a +$2k cost; some people say it's worth it, some say it's too similar.

The ”manual’ fuel door for the charging connection is similar like the one on combustion vehicles, which open out 90 degrees. The electric door however, slides nicely behind the front fender - open or close just by sliding your finger under the sensor next to the lid. With this it’s less likely with damages, as with an permanently open fuel door while charging (as slow public charging for example).

Painted/gloss black mirrors - black plastic otherwise. On some colours looks ok, on others really looks like cheap plastic.

adaptive Cruise - some features-on-demand require it as a base, if you think you might want them later

2+1 rear seats - gets rid of the nasty plastic tray between the rear seats and gains a seat and 40/20/40 split but you will probably have a front/rear seat style mismatch

rear logo in black - to match the window surrounds

this is great spending other people’s money!

Here's what you get with the LED Matrix headlights, good stuff:

Includes:
  • Elements in Glacier Blue: Daytime running light trims

  • Dynamic Cornering Light: Dynamic cornering lights swivel the low beam in accordance with cornering characteristics, depending on the steering angle.

  • Speed-Dependent Headlight Range Control: Speed-dependent headlight range control increases light distribution after 3,300 feet at 68 mph or higher, or immediately after 81 mph and above provided the steering wheel is not turned sharply.

  • Sport Mode: Activated in Sport mode - allows for greater swivel angle depending on steering input.

  • High Beam Assistant: When a camera located inside the rear-view mirror detects the headlights of an oncoming vehicle, the high beams are automatically turned off at a distance of approximately 2,600 feet. If the taillights of a vehicle traveling in front are detected, the high beam is then turned off at a distance of approximately 1,300 feet

Note: Full LED-Matrix functionality (individual operation of 84 LEDs) is limited for the US market. Individual LEDs are programmed to operate as a single light source to perform the functions listed above.

You’re welcome. I must say this: Olea is not a must have, and I don’t think you will notice much difference. When you start using your Taycan, then its pure joy and only pleasure of driving which is in your head - not the minor details ;) However, some of the other options, like gadgets you use daily or frequently might be a regret if you don’t add them now . . .

Ugh, seems like a no-brainer for $580. Would I do in Glacier Blue or Black? Black seems to be better for my build, right?

I'm not sure about the blue vs black. TBH, I never noticed the black option before. I thought the blue meant blue light, but maybe not - black light wouldn't make sense. But agreed that the black would probably go better with a green car.

From the configurator, it looks like the color of the piece inside of the light area.
