TL;DR Taycan Turbo GT Weissach is for a VERY, VERY specific driver

I drove the Turbo GT Weissach today.
It's definitely more track focused and a different experience than the Turbo GT.
Weissach has a firmer drive even in Normal mode. The Turbo GT is softer in Normal, more usable as a street car.
Power delivery is the same

The Good:
- The exterior is gorgeous. The wing and aero make you drool, it gets looks all over Beverly hills where you see every car imaginable. You know it's a special car and it looks different to all the other Taycan variants.
- steering felt sharper
- Regen paddle is fantastic. On my RS E-Tron GT I use it many times when I'm driving. Its aluminum, feels high quality, satisfying tactile click when you engage it. You bond more with the car.
- Attack mode paddle has the same feel of the Regen paddle. It's also easier to use than the Attack mode on the Turbo GT
- suspension felt tighter in Sport +. It feels more like a focused weapon compared to the Turbo GT that feels like a faster, slightly sportier Turbo S.
- sound deadening wasn't bad. It has double pane glass contrary to what the journalist have said.

The Bad:
- Interior uses plastic on the door panels instead of leather on the Turbo GT.
- No leather. All pleather including the arm rest and where it would be leather on the Turbo GT. Is it worth it to save a few lbs on this material?
- no options. I get that it's stripped for the track, but it doesn't even have a front camera, let alone 360 camera for better ability to park? No power trunk, even floor matts are an option which this didn't have.
- Backseat delete creates more sound from the rear motor. The wine from the rear motor is much more pronounced than the Turbo GT. For road use, I don't see the benefit.

This car is for a very specific buyer. In the US, any inventory Weissach seems to be customer orders that backed out. This was for a buyer that had a baby between order and delivery so he backed out.

It works for someone like me that doesn't want a back seat, likes the over the top exterior, drives it harder like a sports car than a luxury daily driving.
IMO it's $50k overpriced. Between the cheaper, plastic interior, lack of creature comforts, you're much better off getting a Turbo GT for a more usable experience.

On a lease in the US, the Residual value are the same as the Turbo S, GT, Weissach. 46% for 36/12k and they are discounting these.

Great points, how were you able to get a test drive from Porsche BH? how many miles were you able to drive them?

Brief rant here. Apologies to anyone who has actually purchased one of these.

The Weissach GT is a ridiculous street car. I can't fathom why anyone would want one to drive amongst the texting teenagers, soccer moms and pickup trucks. It's also a ridiculous track car - even after removing every convenient thing they could to save weight, we're still talking about a 5,000 lb car that is not even a sedan anymore. Get a proper Taycan luxury sedan, and take the extra money and buy a track car (and a club membership).

IMO Porsche just made this car available to consumers so they could maintain bragging rights on the fastest 'stock' EV on the 'ring. Just ridiculous.

The rear area of that car is so ridiculous! Imagine, if more effort was put into this and it was a proper two door Taycan, with a slightly shorter wheelbase? Now that would start the appeal juices flowing.

Ah – I guess – I just want a two seater Taycan but with a full boot/trunk for luggage. Which the upcoming 718 won't provide.

I wouldn't fancy tackling an EV fire with that $140 optional fire extinguisher!
I was thinking that too. It's strictly for the racing illusion which I'm not apposed to

Most people have this opinion of the car.

I'm tracking the 4 Weissach inventory cars in the US to see if anyone ends up buying them.
One is a PTS Brewster green that is clearly a customer blacking out with a $250k MSRP.
When I spoke to dealer, I could hear the fear in their voice to keep it as inventory.

When I drove this black Weissach, the dealer has a fully optioned 2024 TTS with a $250k window. There were giving $66k off, with the $7500 lease credit and I'm sure more room for discounts on top of that.

My thinking is this Weissach should also get huge discounts in order to move it because it's very expensive and for a very specific customer.

Good picture of the CF dog bed, but no ACC.
I specced the Turbo GT with no ACC or driver aids. Its not an option at all for Weissach.
Ive never used driver aids on my car. I do use it all the time for daily drivers

The $66K discount is not that shocking given it's essentially a year old, previous generation, ultra loaded with options, quarter million dollars 4 door sedan car. Most people willing to spend a quarter million on a car are going to want the latest, and likely customized for themselves (colors, options, etc). Some dealers will probably discount abandoned orders inventory Weissach cars, it might not be as much (whatever deposits they got to keep should help).

You cannot spec Turbo GT without the fake air scarf vents, which apparently affects the drag not insignificantly.
https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...-greater-range-aerodynamics.23053/post-351136
Only Weissach package comes with working aero vents for 2025+ Taycans.
This is true. Turbo GT comes standard with the power charging doors which closes off the side vents.
Weissach comes with 1 charging port, no option for the power charging door, but the side vents are wider for more air pass through

Just wish you could get all the aero on the turbo GT with backseats. Granted not a buyer for this new. To rich and to high depreciation for me. I will get on in a couple years though.

Fun car but just to much money for a car that’s going to suffer from enormous depreciation, kinda takes the fun out of it , for me at least …
