It depends where you are located. The list will be different for different areas. For me charge place Scotland and podpoint does just about all I need.

your needs will be different. Take a look on Zap-Map or ABRP apps and see what chargers are close or on routes you usually use and then sign up for those.

you will need to order your Porsche card for use at Ionity, and also note that instavolt is a good reliable charging system and does not need a card.

I hope this helps

What’s an RFID card? reading the above presumably you need it to use certain types of chargers. Is it free to sign up for all? Do you order Porsche card prior to arrival of car?

Contactless card basically which grants user access to the charger and of course processes payment. Some systems have own cards v normal debit/credit card options.

Pardon my lack of knowledge

I can’t for example imagine needing to use the card too much so is it worth paying the subscription fee for each card. Polar for example has an 8 pound subscription

Depends on your location I guess... for me access to a 150KW Polar charger is handy and I get the subscription included in an energy tariff...

I can recommend the Shell Recharge card. Good to have as a backup, no subscription. Have used it a couple of times at different Shell garages and they have plenty of 50Kw and 150Kw charging pods. Their app is decent too. Oh and of course the Porsche IONITY card too.

Apps:
Ionity
Podpoint
Polar Instant
Geniepoint
Electric Highway
Jaguar App

Rfid cards
Charge Your Car (for Scotland)
Shell Recharge
Polar rfid by subscription if I think it’s worth it.

By far the best routing app with chargepoints is WattApp. Type in the route and it shows charge points along the way. No attempts to guess range or charge times wrongly like ABRP.

You do mean WattsUp App Graham yes? I have that and it's great, far better than Zap map too.

Discovered WattsUp today.
Its excellent as you get more information about the chargers. A general map on it woukd be handy too.

I noticed on WattsUp that Ballentines health clubs have instavolt chargers. They didn't show up on Zap Map. Anyone know if they are for general us or customers only ?

Anyone used the EV station in Braintree yet ? Looks like the future!

Hi Andy,

All the station on the InstaVolt network are available to the public, you do not have to be a member of the gym to use the charging stations.

Please make sure to check the Bannatyne car park has some sites have a parking eye system which will require you to enter you car registration in at the reception of the gym. Bannatyne are usually very nice and let the customers using the InstaVolt machines wait inside the reception/ café area of the gym and use their facilities.

Thank you for reaching out and have a nice evening.

Kind regards,
