Anyone with a white car that has the same issue as on my car ? Or did the quality controller guy at the Porsche factory have his day off when my car was due? ( see the white rim above the rear light ) I hope some of you factory guys see this , es sieht ja sehr schlecht aus )

That makes no sense. Those rear lights are modular and removable on most Porsches.

It's almost like someone did a hasty repaint and didn't tape off the lights. If you watch the factory videos, those lights are not installed when the body is painted.

Yes, I have similar on my Carrera White Taycan Turbo. The "ridge" on my Taycan is less pronounced, but textured like a brush stroke, which makes me believe it is a seam sealer that was painted white.

My experience with seam sealer is - The more the better, as it most likely protects a pinch weld from corrosion.

It appears from the trunk gutter that water flows over the rear tail-light and out the sides. Not sure why it is designed this way, but I'm sure there is a good reason. And if water does flow in that path, I would definitely want seam sealer liberally applied.

I do not think our cars were in prior accidents at the port.

I Will have à look on my car later in the week. To me that looks more like some kind of sealant than white paint. I have no idea why they would use sealant there instead of some rubber strip? If it is done like this, would it not be on all colours of the car in that case?
Really looks out of place

Has anyone seen this ridge on another color? Perhaps it is on other colors, yet easier to spot on white?

Is it excess body colored sealant or paint?

That looks like excess sealant that was not trimmed off prior to the car entering the paint shop at the factory. I imagine if you poke it with a small flat head screwdriver you will find it is flexible. If it is sealant it can be trimmed off with a very sharp trim knife. But I’d point it out to the dealer and let them handle it. To me it is not a repair of any sort.

I have a White Carrera, there is nothing there on mine, it may be sealant but I have nothing on mine.
