@Mr.Smith what are your thoughts on the difference while cruising between the 800hp always available on the 24 TTS compared to 777 on the GT? I know push to pass gives you a boost, but with casual driving is there much of a difference after the redshift tune?

That’s before redshift releases a tune for the GT, of course.

Both are equal, they feel the same. The 800hp is an estimate so it very close to with the 777hp of that GT.
We were exactly neck and neck for the length of that road you see in the video.

I believe the Drivability Adaption of the TGT is set to be more snappy and aggressive than the 2025 TTS. The GT is Closer to our tuned cars with throttle response

In Push to pass, the power is delivered on the top end from what I see. Meaning the first few seconds don't make that much of a difference in power delivery.
This seems to be how the J1 platform philosophy is.

I spoke to Mario at @redshift-performance about this. Hopefully they can work some magic on the facelift as well

What about the 2025 turbo s when not in push to pass or launch mode? Does it feel slower than your tuned car? I think it has something like 707 hp in none push to pass mode!

Turbo S was faster in launch mode, but didn't feel different just driving normally.
The peddle was very hard compared to my car that is more responsive. The Turbo GT was more like my car in the throttle re6.

For someone like me that can't control the options, it will be almost the same price for a Turbo S as a Turbo GT.
I like the aero kit of the Turbo GT and the Weissach even more

For what i understand the big difference for the gen. 2 taycan if you have a gen 1 tuned turbo or turbo s is not the power but the active ride! Especially for me that my turbo has pvt+ and aws but not PDCC

I would agree with that. New generation is definitely faster, but does it feel that much faster for 2x the money? I don't think so
Now the PAR makes it much better than the Gen 1 Turbo S

At lower speeds acceleration is usually traction limited not power limited.

Definitely experienced this in both 2025 Turbo S and Turbo GT. Turbo S was cooler so a lot more slip
The other difference with Taycan and some other EVs is the power delivery. Taycan is more gradual, linear, consistent power. The i5, Teslas and some other EVs are huge power delivery, then less power as speed increases. These are more party tricks compared to the Taycan

An interesting fact. I spend a lot more time in Sport than Sport+. Over time my Taycan "learned" my driving style, and applied it to the Sport mode throttle adaptation. I disabled the adaptation on Sport+, but kept it on Sport. The throttle is noticeably more aggressive in Sport than on Sport+ in my car. I also compared my Sport vs. Sport+ before disabling the adaptation, Sport was even more aggressive than Sport+. My point is throttle adaptation is a dynamic thing, the car continuously learns and adjusts. Sure, there is some factory setting, but it changes with each drive. I suspect a test drive car may be learning on a lot of launches, resulting in an aggressive adaptation. I do remember by very first Taycan test drive in 2019, I distinctly remember Sport+ being very "twitchy". Now I realize it was probably the result of all the test drives.

Finally got to drive the Taycan Turbo GT. Dealer was kind enough to pull the car out, threw me the keys and walked away.

I launched it 2x. Got to 130mph in a blink of an eye. It's definitely fast.
Steering wheel felt as light as my RS E-Tron GT. I was surprised is felt so numb. I've driven ever other variant of the J1 snd they felt like they had more feedback, especially the RWD.

The RaceTex on the steering wheel is less soft, lower pile than the Audi Dynamica.

The handling is sublime. No body roll in Sport + compared to the E-Tron GT that is software tuned to have too much, unnecessary body roll.

The car is snappy. Seems that throttle response is more sensitive than the 2025 Turbo S which felt heavy.
In first gear you really feel it, just like my upgraded RS E-Tron GT with the Driving adaptation filter removed.
In attack mode, it felt faster, but it doesn't give the power instantly. Instead it's a very linear distribution of power. This makes it not "feel" as fast. I'm sure this can be turned.
In 2nd gear at 70mph, I puched it with attack mode engaged and I didn't really feel brain slam to that back of my skull. In 1st year it's more pronounced.

You're in triple digits all the time without knowing it. I blasted past a couple of cars at 120mph with zero effort.

Noticed the brakes did feel mushy after hard braking a few times. Journalist has also mentioned this, but it could be the car only had 30 miles on it.
I have the carbon ceramic brakes on my RS E-Tron GT and they are very grabby. I love them!

Came back and there was a burning smell which is always the sign of a proper driving session.

We did a little race workout launch control, he was in Sport, I was in Dynamic. We were neck and neck until I backed off.
If he was in Launch control it would be better 40 cars ahead of me.

Car sold 2 days after.

There are 14 Turbo GTs and Weissachs in the US and in transit to dealers. These are pretty rare right now.
Weissach is where the deals will be because no one wants them in comparison to the Turbo GT that is selling.
They are doing small discounts.
