Hello all,
So, I made a previous thread, and also pretty much read all the threads made on this topic in regard to the sideview camera, ever since I noticed that some people have it, while I haven't had it ever since i got my car.
This is how the camer looks if you are one of the lucky ones that have it:
The consensus online is that if you have Remote Park Assist, for some reason this option is gone for no good reason.
But here's the thing, I don't have remote park assist or whatever the thing where the car parks itself is called. And I still don't have the sideview cameras option in my PCM.
So, I went looking at Porsche's CPOs, comparing specs of cars that have it and cars that don't. And here's the kicker, in identical spec cars (in terms of assistance), some have it and some don't. Indentical specs, some have it, some don't.
If you check the pictures of the listing, to be more precise the reversing camera view picture.
Example of car NOT having it: Used Porsche Taycan Turbo for sale at Porsche Used Car Centre Basel ( ParkAssist incl. Surround View, Lane Change Assist, Porsche InnoDrive incl. adaptive cruise control, HomeLink® (Garage Door Opener), Comfort access, Night vision )
Example of car having it: Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo gebraucht beim Porsche Gebrauchtwagenzentrum Basel kaufen ( ParkAssist incl. Surround View, Lane Change Assist, Porsche InnoDrive incl. adaptive cruise control, HomeLink® (Garage Door Opener), Comfort access)
Both cars do not have Remote Park assist, and are identical in terms of assistance features - which is indicated by a different icon for park assist, with a driving wheel.
My car, same specs in terms of assistance, with no remote parking assistance, also not having the side view camera
The only conclusion I can reach, is that this is some sort of software bug / some broken PCM update - since the physical cameras are there, and they work for surround /3d view. I am thinking of asking my dealer when i go to change my wheels to do a checkup, but afraid the car will be stuck in service forever...
Anyone else with no remote park assistance that also doesn't have this option?
