Yeah I have no idea how its a safety issue, specially when OPENING!

We also don’t get the press and hold lock to close up everything and roll up windows....sigh....
Really? My Panamera does that now

Haha! Funny.
My car doesn't have that.
Luckily.
:)
Correction:
I do have it.
When using my foot to open it, no beep.
When using my foot to close it, it beeps!
It's not beeping when I press the button in the lid though.
Funny ey? :)

My car also beeps if I close the trunk when sitting in the car and using the lower central display. But not when it is closed by the button on the lid .

Remote closing sound makes sense really if some one happens to stand there when you try to close the lid remotely.

Sadly, now I’ll lose the “good beeps” because the “bad beeps” were excessively annoying! Thanks America, home of the nanny-state!

They were a bit cranky about it but my dealer turned this off on my Macan. It's a setting they can change with PIWIS. If your SA says no, make him ask a tech.

Keep in mind that the dealer knowledge level on the Taycan is extremely low because it's so new. I went through this buying a launch Macan. They'll get better.

In my case, it wasn’t “we don’t know how”, it was “we won’t, for liability reasons”. I can respect that.

One may have left their kid on the trunk when opening he would fall off ;)

Does it have the press and hold to roll down all the windows?

was there an option to lower the volume or is it either on and off?
I don't know - I wanted it off. Also FYI changing the setting doesn't compromise safety in any way because it will still beep for an obstruction.

How about adding a resistor in series with the speaker? I bet the current‘s low and power dissipation wouldn’t be an issue. That should reduce it.

Thank you!

I live half a block away from an apartment building that gets their trash bins emptied three times a week at 4am. Beeping. Crashing bins. Sigh. City living. #FirstWorldProblems
That’s my song of the city when traveling
