Asked the question yesterday regarding my turbo coming march and Bose is standard and accordingly to the opc there’s no cross on the spec meaning it’s coming with Bose , could this be the case if it’s standard you get it over the optional spec versions ie 4 or 4s etc

If there is a choice I would not make the 4 times investment needed as the Burmester is not 4 times better - 1.5 IMHO.
Bose is fine just don't see why go for Burmester crazy price but just as important I believe the subwoofer takes extra space why would you go for it if that's the case

Didn't apply to my GT3!

However, I can believe that they take account of who is likely to be paying cash and who would be using finance when handing out the allocations for certain 'halo' cars.

I have obtained a finance quote from Porsche finance, but will be paying cash. To be honest I didn't read the small print on the order form, but I'm 99.99% confident that there is nothing in there about having to use finance.

In any case I'd then simply take the finance and immediately pay it off!
The sales team were very keen to explain the benefits of taking their finance deal when I placed my order.
I have never bought anything other than a house with a loan so stuck to buying cash as usual.

It has been suggested to me by a mate who works in the collector's car market the reason for my unusually long wait may well be the dealer putting later customers buying on finance in front of me in the allocation queue. He said I should have taken the finance deal and immediately paid it off, but I didn't think of that.

It has been pretty clear to the dealer from the day of my order that I am paying cash.

The subwoofer takes extra space for the Bose too, so that’s not really a relevant factor.

Agreed - I explained this earlier in the thread!

That wouldn't surprise me. I was surprised that I had to ask for quotes from my dealer, though perhaps they planned to raise the subject later, once I'd got a build slot. (EDIT- I didn't take finance- I wanted the quotes (with RV's) to inform my choice of model variant and how to buy.)
I wonder whether my unexpectedly (by me) short lead time of just over 6 months was partly due to me having a low mileage less than 3 y.o. Porsche to p/ex (in fact, thinking back, I had no interest in changing it until they gave me an unsolicited valuation when I took it in for service)

That is interesting. Looks like from here on I am taking the worst finance deal possible... Then on expedited delivery day, paying off the whole thing.

That was certainly a theory but now Bose is apparently on confirmed (some) builds this week were it is an option (as is my case). I can see the logic for standard specs being preserved and so Turbos are "entitled" to BOSE but there do appear to be deviations.

Truth is its not guaranteed in the current environment until the car has been built.

I discussed this my dealer this morning. They believe that whilst you might be able to spec Bose at this stage, the order might not be accepted by Porsche UK or fulfilled by Porsche AG within the expected delivery slot.

This may or may not be true and no one will know until it comes to the actual build date - a lot can happen in the meantime. Your last sentence is key!

I will probably do the same soon after taking delivery. I enquired about the best route to getting a GT3 allocation and was told it's both number of cars bought previously and if you financed through Porsche. I will probably be too old for a GT3 by the time I get there anyway so will switch finance quickly.

I've now spoken to the dealer and the rates of interest are up to 10.8% but this equated to nearly £28k in interest with a £15k deposit against £90k of car over 4 years  The residual values have been increased to combat the cost of money but that hasn't really helped much..

I have cancelled the order, previously it was much cheaper. The chaps at the dealer were cool!

I will move my deposit to a Macan EV and save a massive amount of money towards it, my typical car buy is 50% down and HP the rest over a period reducing my interest burden, I hate paying interest, I am allergic to it!

It will be interesting to see what is available on the 2nd hand market once the supply is back to normal.

It’s not gone to the ‘order handling’ step?
Porsche UK apparently accepted it yesterday and so I assume the factory is next if not already.

I fully expect there still to be a problem when all said and done.

With the Bose issue and the fact we’re talking March delivery cars I reckon some dealers don’t want to risk delivery to customers in this financial year… and avoiding Bose where they can, unless the customer digs their heals in… maybe?

Or… to avoid customers cancelling give them a glimmer of hope by allowing Bose to go through on the order to be told different at a later stage?

I guess time will tell.
