According to sticklers for the traditional definition of sportscar- 2 seater soft top- the 911 is usually a GT rather than a sportscar.

I dont consider Taycan a sport car. It is wierd type, in normal mode it is like MB S (maybe E) class, luxury sedan. In sport+ it is sort of sport car, but not really

I have to agree, the semantics game is just silly. My 1964 Triumph Spitfire 4 was a "sports" car, but could barely out accelerate a VW Beetle. If you want to go with the " a low small usually two-passenger automobile designed for high-speed driving" then a 911 isn't a sports car either since it, at least in theory, can seat 4 people. As one post mentioned perhaps more of a GT car?

I'm not sure why the angst about what we call a Taycan. I'm going to call it a Sports Car, if for no other reason than to poke the purists that find it irritating

the distinction about what is and isnt a sports car is a silly one that only creates internal divisions within the car community. Reminds me of metalheads endlessly arguing about what is and isn't 'real' metal
