Some Answers and Info From Canadian Taycan Launch Event

Updated with some answers and photos from the event:

Any news about the base model single motor Taycan would be appreciated. Any changes to the ability to order metal roof and smaller battery in June 2020 also. Enjoy the test drive when can.

- the base model will not be out for at least 2 years

- the smaller battery will most likely be delayed due to the virus, they need to keep up with the orders

It would be good to know when they plan to fix the wireless Apple CarPlay that was promised. We hear there is to be a software update in June.

- no word on the software update

Picture of the side vents on the front fender. Are they open? Vents at the A pillar
Have a nice trip

- open vents on the manual port cover, for the power port cover is closed off. (But it has tiny holes for vent?)

When will PORSCHE Unveil the Cross Turismo?

-will most likely be next year

Was it the Porsche Centre Vancouver event? I too was invited but couldn't attend. Any photos to share? I also heard that the car will be available for test drives starting tomorrow.

Hi taycanians,

I will be going to a launch event tonight. I know we already know a lot about this car. There may be that One or two questions that you guys may have forgotten or just came up. Whether is pictures of the back seat or questions about the bra etc... let me know and I will do my best to get it fulfilled.

I doubt they would answer, but would be good to know when they expect to have a steady flow of deliveries.

Also, if there is any substantial change with MY 21 cars.

I was invited a week or so ago to view the Taycan arriving at my local dealer. I saw a black TurboS, black Turbo and a Mamba Green Turbo. All cars were just off the lorry so not prepped at all but nice to see.

This morning I was invited to coma and try the black Turbo I saw earlier. We took a trip of about 35 km on smaller country roads with possibility to accelerate and try the car on the type roads that we love to drive. There have been so many reviews from journalists and other contributors here, especially @louv, that I had very high expectations. And they were all met and surpassed. A short drive but with a launch control from red lights and all.

And then to top it all up they had a white Turbo in the showroom. See pictures below. The specification was very close to my dream spec but had a few different options that I did not really consider.

But the Turbo was for sale and can b available in two or three weeks, so make your mind up time!
I also took som photos of the vent at the a pillar and it is difficult to say if it is closed off partly. It seems open but with a grid in place to stop debris hitting on the door I suspect. See below.1

I live in the south of France.
There are some fantastic driving routes around here, Route Napoleon, Monte Carl, La Turbie etc. Not to mention the Italian alps.

i wasn’t going to add 4 zone climate control but now I’ve seen these pics with and without I’ve changed my mind

I also test drove the turbo today! and I also test drove the Tesla model 3 performance and model s performance.

Things I took out of these two test drive. I have never owned or drove an EV before. I would be your average driver, I don’t track, drive from point a to point b, take occasions road trips. I also speed too....sometimes... hehehe

All three cars blew my mind. I don’t think I need to write a lengthy review as it’s the same with all other reviews you guys had already seen/read.

But if you want bang for your buck I would get the base model 3, maybe even model 3 performance. I think for this amount of money you pay, you are getting a lot, maybe even more than what you’re paying for.

if you have some moneyto spare I would definitely go for the 4s. (I think I will be getting the 4sjust finalizing my build)

And if mommy and daddy got you covered, or make well above average money and have lots laying around. You can donate them to me to upgrade to a turbo! haha, then I would go for the turbo. I really don’t think turbo S is necessary. (Even if I had all the money in the world, just going from a more practical POV)
