I used this for the first time last night - it was a great experience - really really makes starting a charging session much easier. This should be un-necessary because as a Taycan Owner you should use the Charge America app to start your charging sessions cause then you get 30 mins "free/included" as part of your Taycan ownership process

  1. this easier than the Charger America app
  2. I've had mixed results with the Charge America app actually functioning - so sometimes you need to use the EA app
  3. EA has buried the "add card to wallet" feature so here is the step by step guide for iOS users - sorry I'm not an android user…

  • tap the "gear" icon in the upper right on the "accounts" screen

choose automatic or not automatic's - automatic means that when you present your phone to the NFC reader on the EA station that the AppleWallet will "automatically" select this card from your wallet - you may want this "off" but I can't think of why you'd want to disable it.

now exit the EA application and find the "Apple Wallet" application on your phone

and now you should see your Electrify America "account card" in your Apple Wallet - making it much much easier to start an EA session…

I have sent customer feedkback for the same support for Charge America app - but I'm sure more people sending the same feedback might help them prioritize this feature appropriately.

this also means it could work on your AppleWatch as a virtual RFID card - turning your watch into an EA station account ID card - I"ll have to play with this and report back…

  3. tap the "head/account" icon in the upper right of your screen
  4. tap the "gear" icon in the upper right of the account screen
  5. tap on the "Electrify America" Pass line on the next screen
  6. it will "show" you an EA virtual pass - tap next
  7. next screen choose automatic or manual for pass selection when presented to an NFC reader
  8. click done
  9. exit the EA app
  10. find the AppleWallet icon
  11. find/organize your EA virtual RFID card in your AppleWallet

Then I’ll stick with Charge America. Used it yesterday at a 350kw charger without a hitch. Looking forward to plug and charge.
