I used to want more painted surfaces on the rear diffuser/bumper area of the car.
Yesterday, on a heavily congested freeway with most stop plus some go traffic, I was tapped quite hard by a Honda Pilot. I was stopped (as was all of the traffic in front of me). I can only assume that the car in behind me misjudged the distance or was distracted in some way, and he hit me square and caused my head to hit the back of the headrest and nudged my car forward.
I pulled over, prepared to assess the damage, but there was no visible damage to the car at all! I pushed on the bumper, just in case underneath the cover there had been some damage - nope.
Totally relieved! I won’t be complaining at all about the design of the rear bumper or the design decisions about which pieces to paint. I am confident that if I had a Turbo or Turbo S the painted portions of the rear valence would have been damaged.
