Thanks, what about 2WD Vs 4WD, each with winter tyres? That's more my curiosity on this one, is it required / worth the extra?

IMO with IC engines 4WD is of little benefit most of the year in the UK as long as one uses winter tyres and not worth dragging the extra weight around all year for the few occasions it may be better, though the further north we go the more useful days it gives.

In the case of an EV I favour 4WD because of regeneration braking on all 4 wheels.
