I'm one of the weird ones I guess...
I don't need a 4 door. I'm single with no kids.
I LOVED the Mission E even though it was a 4 door in part because the suicide doors threw my eye off just enough to where it didn't look like an obvious 4 door.
It's why recently I've said that even with the design now, if they just didn't make the door handles look like every other door handle in the world, and maybe flush mounted them with touch sensors like Tesla is doing, that maybe they could still keep that "is it a 2 door or 4 door?" look.
At least then it would be more appealing to me personally. Even with the slim haunches.
But really, we are all either complaining about it looking like crap (compared to what we were sold on, and even to this very day sold on as they continue to trot out the Mission E) or we are saying that it's "good enough."
But let me ask you this... when you think Porsche, do you think "eh, it's good enough", or do you think that you're buying an amazing piece of art?
That is the biggest issue. I believe dropping $100k+ USD for "eh, it's good enough" is a hard PASS for me. I'd rather spend $200k USD for "Holy shit, this is legit one of the sexiest cars ever!" (new Tesla Roadster). Why settle for good enough?
I tell you what, walk up to your wife and say "you know, I suppose you're good enough" and see her reaction. That's what Porsche is trying to sell us by trotting out the Mission E yet giving us a hybrid of Mission E and Panamera. To me, good enough = I'll keep my money. Wow = I'll throw my money at you like Motley Crue threw money at strippers! Make it rain Porsche, make it rain!!!
