Before we took delivery of the model 3 I was able to find a nice link and you tube video of some must have accessories put together by current owners.

For all current taycan/porsce owners can you report on what off the shelf products you have found helpful with your car, be it custom floor mats or cup holder garbage can.

I understand this is whole diffrent level of a car , just think it would be nice to have some sort of accessories list , so future owners can start reviewing and getting items before taking delivery.

Well....without a doubt a high quality radar detector along with where it could be mounted would be on the list.
That begs the question whether any detector will work through the Taycan front windshield glass.

That is a good point. I know in the Tesla my ez pass does not work. Not sure if it’s the glass or the battery

When we met with @louv over in san jose, He had a nice Camera set up mounted to the windshield that looked pretty sweet. and I believe he said he wired it up and over and behind his seat. I also slightly remember him talking about how had some small issues with the radar detector he was using and then the Porsche Factory who were sitting with us guys talked about how mounting the radar inside would be a issue with cars with the insulated glass option.
I belive they then suggested to try and mount the radar under the front of the car to avoid issues with coated glass.
Im sure don can speak more indepth about these 2 things.

There usually are some parts of the windshield that has no coating - presumably for things like fast pass, or radar detectors.

My GM told me that you cannot use a detector behind the insulated glass. I would plan on using a remote in the bumper.

I haven’t dug through the manuals to understand where those “holes” are in the windshield. My radar detector clearly is not working (mounted under rear view mirror) and I think my EZPass isn’t working either (mounted to the right of the mirror mounting point to the dash).

My Epass works just fine in our Model 3. Strange yours doesn't.

Toll tags should work when correctly positioned if you have the thermally insulated glass. See below from manual.
I have a Tesla MS and M3, no issue with tags. I also had a Macan with thermally insulated glass, when positioned correctly, had no issue with toll tag.
I haven't tried a detector in the Teslas but if you want the most efficient solution, you will need a laser jammer too. I have used the Escort max ci which is a fully integrated solution, needs to be installed by a professional and obviously more expensive than portable one. Very slick tho

Porsche Taycan Taycan / Porsche accessories that are must haves? Taycan ta

Do you have the insulated glass? Or is this an issue with all Taycan windshields?
