There are 3 videos.

Dragrace: Taycan vs P100D

Taycan did a 2,9sec 0-100kp/h on a wet track (Tesla 3,2s) and with more acceleration runs the Tesla had no chance.

The Taycan is just amazingly fast

By the way: sorry for partly no sound... otherwise it would get blocked :/

This really shows off the gearing advantage Porsche has with the 2 speed transmission.
Illustrates the combination of Porsche using conservative performance figures (like they always do) and the mechanical gearing multiplier at both low and high speed acceleration.

Taycan has slightly more weight and slightly less power than the P100D yet it pulled significantly on the Tesla even when the Tesla staged deeper and got the jump in the 2nd video.

Appears to launch much harder/more aggressively on a wet surface across all 3 videos as well. Better traction control programming, more mechanical grip from better/wider tires, the 1st gear ratio advantage or all of the above?

Bloody hell, it's significantly faster AND more repeatable?

And I know I say this a lot, but the fact the Taycan is the most beautiful 4-door saloon in the world doesn't hurt either

yeah I’m curious about that too. it’d be interesting to see the difference in better track conditions.

I don't think wider tires on a wet surface is better...
But maybe in this case, cuz of the huge weight of the Taycan, who knows where that break-even point is (pressure per square inch vs tire width vs traction).
It's good to see it's that fast though.

Still really amazing.

And if/when Porsche release an even more sporty/higher powered variant...

The tesla has almost a 1/2 car lead at the start. I'd like to see the same race under dry conditions. Still very impressive.

PS - if you do 'stoplight' races with other cars on public roads where there is any other traffic or people present, you are an idiot. There is really not much more dangerous or irresponsible behavior you can engage in on public roads. You are completely focused on the race and disregard everything else around you, and because of this, people get injured or killed in these situations.

1. I don’t think anybody here was talking about something that stupid. We just like fast cars

2. It’s illegal in most places, and will get you arrested and your car impounded. In CA, this is not a speeding ticket. It’s a long term relationship with a lawyer and jail.

An interesting closing commentary in German in the video.....The drivers Alex and Albert try the race over and over, and the distance between the Porsche and the Tesla get larger and larger with each race. I wish they would publish the stats on each race.

Maybe Tesla could learn a little something from Porsche here
