Taycan Turbo Sport Turismo arrives in the cold and dark!

After a January ‘22 order and being built without a 12v battery, my slightly low-key Turbo ST build has got to me. It’s a cliche, but it genuinely looks so much better in real life than when you stare at the pictures in the Configurator for months on end, as well as clicking through pictures of all your cars!

The extra’s weren’t too long. Went for 20” wheels as I value the comfort and the range and frankly, didn’t like the 21” options much for the price of them. If only I could have ordered the CT specific 21” wheels which are great. As it turns out am made up with my choice, might even get a set painted one colour.

Went for Bose as standard because whilst I have experience of owning a car with Burmeister, I didn’t rate it that highly and have decent home audio if I want to listen to music at home through a nice system.

the door handles give a great splash of colour on the grey, which was chosen to avoid a black void inside the car!

I’ve had a quick and slightly dull drive home in it in traffic and it’s beautiful to drive. I may put something together with more detail after some summer drives!

Had a bit of a longer wait at the dealer as the winter wheel & tyre set swap took a while, so took a few pictures of some of the nice motors they have at Porsche Reading whilst I waited!

My thanks to Simon at Reading Porsche who has been great throughout. Always helpful and patient through what must have been (almost!), as painful a time for him as me!

Thanks mate. Yeah I wasn’t sure about how the grey would come out but I’m super happy with it. It could be a little dull, but yeah I think the colour splash lifts it and makes it look more special. My eldest has already made the rear mat filthy though (in one trip to Waitrose!), so I may have to buy some winter mats!

I’ve gone for the same combo although not with the colour coded handles. Nice to see it works so well.

Having seen it in person yesterday, I can confirm Matt has got himself a stunning car. Loved the colour combo.

What color seats are those? In the US, the "slate gray" looks way darker than these (at least in the configurator - see below). I didn't see any other gray option available (too late for me now, car going to production soon with chalk, but good to know for next time).

I think the colour rendition of the interiors in the configurator is dire and wildly wrong.
I think the worst I have seen is the Meranti Brown, which in real life is absolutely nothing like the rendition in the UK configurator, when I saw it in real life I thought it must be atacama beige it was so different to that in the configurator.

Considering Porsche hasn't had any Taycans to look at at their dealers for the last couple of years, you'd think they would at least add somewhat representative color representations to the configurator. Don't they have a marketing department? Or did they file all marketing people since the cars are "selling themselves too well already"?

I expect so and maybe the UK configurator picture is a bit different better let him answer though.
I did get to see a few non-black interiors before I fixed my order, but not blackberry, so pleased with it anyway.

Yep - the interior is slate grey and the photos in the OPs post above are a good reflection of the actual colour compared to the configurator. I have gone for the same as the slate grey was the perfect solution to not wanting black or a very light interior.

See link in the first post- I think if you click it you'll get the UK configurator view rather than the US one.
It looks lighter than yours BUT if you click the background switch so there's no rendered landscape, the grey goes quite a bit darker. The GB landscape differs from the US one so that might account for the variation. Perhaps the interior colour/shade rendering is fairly accurate, but if we were to see it first hand in real life our brains might to a certain extent balance out the variation due to different lighting conditions.
EDIT- just to try and explain my point about lighting:
The rendering is (probably correctly) very sensitive to the virtual ambient lighting conditions.
In real life, we don't notice the variation as much because our vision is directly experiencing the ambient lighting, so our brain is compensating somewhat for it, whereas none of that applies when we're just looking at a flat rendering that occupies a relatively small portion of our field of view. (Similarly, we're less aware of colour changes due to ambient lighting conditions in real life).
