Simplifying, I think this means 50%. Isn’t it the same for 4 year old high spec Teslas what with the discounting on new Telsas that dropped their resale value?

Clickbait headline. They are using a $213K can as an example, so ~50% in 4 years, on par or better than other luxury sedans and actually most cars. Options depreciate about 100% in 4 years. Base price about 50%. Go to any dealer and ask about 4 year lease residual values for any luxury sedan. Quoting the absolute value is just a clickbait. A Nissan Versa will never depreciate more than $16K, even over 1000 years, while a loaded Taycan Turbo S will depreciate this much leaving the dealer parking lot. So what?

New headline "Taycan depreciates > 100x than Nissan Versa?". In absolute value terms that is true.

I’m considering buying a second Taycan Turbo (used this time) to take advantage of dollar cost averaging.
Reading a lot of these articles leaves you thinking there ought very cheap if not free used Taycans available everywhere. $100K depreciation in 4 years, sure, where are those free 2020 RWD's (which started at $80K or less after the federal rebate)? ;)
