Lol. That's Government Programs for you!

You can pre-fill everything out online in the PDF and then print it out, which is way easier. But yes, they should have an online portal to submit everything.
It's particularly strange. The PDFs they supply have drop down boxes and everything, but the instructions for filling it out explicitly say to sign it in ink and mail it or drop it off in person. Why would you go through all that trouble to make it a fillable form only to require hand signature, ink on paper?

Again, Government Program hahaha. Who knows why they do the things they do.

Wanted to throw this out there for Texas residents that may not be aware of the $2,500 grant for purchasing an EV or hybrid. There are currently 1,358 still available. Tesla cannot apply as they do not have physical dealerships.

I believe the answer is YES, but in order to submit an application for the grant you must have already purchased your Taycan and taken delivery, correct?

I just placed my order for a 4S with an estimated delivery in February 2021 and don't believe I'd be eligible to submit an application yet. Not only because I haven't actually purchased the vehicle and taken delivery, but also because the 2021 Taycan 4S isn't yet listed as an eligible vehicle.

You should check to see about applying for a reservation. You may need to wait until 1-Jan to see if the TCEQ program is renewed for 2021, and then apply. Securing a reservation will help to ensure that you DO get to participate in the program once your car is delivered.

The reservation instructions can be found on the same site as the rebate information. Good luck!

Thank you Toby, I reached out to TCEQ and they responded the same day!

Unfortunately the answer was that the deadline to submit a reservation was in October and the program expires on 7 January 2021. I'll have to wait to see if the program is renewed sometime in 2021.

I tried hand delivering my paperwork today but the information on the form is pre-covid. You can't get to their office as noted on the forms, but you can leave it there in the mail room in building A. I was hoping they'd be able to tell me whether I'd done all the paperwork correctly, but no go.

What I did notice in the process was that the instructions were spread out across multiple locations and not 100% consistent (though at least not contradictory). You must include two copies of the application, both signed in ink and single-sided. End result was quite the stack of paper.

I followed up with them via email 5 weeks after my document pack was delivered (by UPS with proof of delivery signature). Turns out they completely lost everything. I had to resubmit, which fortunately they allowed me to do via email. Received an email this week with attached letter stating it had been approved and payment pending within 30 days. My point here is......if you did get something wrong and/or miss something, seems they will work with you to get it corrected over email. FYI

While I would be reluctant to send documentation containing my SSN through email, I did just send them an email to confirm they'd received the paper documentation and got a response in <15 minutes, which I thought was surprisingly fast. :like:

I wanted to alert everyone in Texas that the $2,500 Rebate will be expiring on January 7th, 2021.

Please make sure you have all of your documentation down to the TCEQ offices before 5PM on January 7th.

I spoke with a representative at the TCEQ the other day and unfortunately they told me there was no word of this program being extended.

Just wanted to update everyone on the website, they do have a notification now showing that the program has currently ended.

Hopeful they will do this again! Looks like they awarded a total of 1,381 Grants for Natural Gas, Hydrogen, and Electric Vehicles, or roughly $3,452,500!

Glad I got in when I did, then. I finally got the check a week or two ago, though in this case I was kind of glad they took a few extra days because someone broke into our mailbox just after the new year
