Interesting that they are apparently prioritising the base models over the higher tier models. I would have assumed it was the other way around.
I don't know, it seems like pretty common practice for Porsche to first release the lower trims of any given new model, then release the top trims later.

This was definitely the case with the Caymans and 991 & 992 generation 911 models.

I was speaking to my dealer last week and he said certain options are definitely delaying production dates due to the chip shortage.
He specifically mentioned that 14/18 way seats are causing delays.

They had actually just down-specced a number of showroom orders just to ensure delivery.
