Good call I did mine last March. It won’t save quite that much though… it will just defer the payment of £195 to next March. It will save you £16.25 per month that you no longer pay

OK, so I guess your tax was due at the end of March anyway, right? - otherwise renewing would have given you 12 months from START of March, so expiring end Feb 2026.

I think so - I bought the car last April - Porsche taxed it for me at the time of collection. On Saturday when I renewed it, it stated next due 1st April. I assumed by me taxing it in March, it would reset it, but checking on https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ it says: Tax Due 1st April 2026

Even if the tax isn't due to expire, you can renew it for the next 12mths with the V5C.

Will save you £195.
Are you sure its only £195 to tax a taycan next year? I read that the 'premium vehicle tax' is to be added to all vehicles included those already registered. i.e an extra £410 for five years....

Yes, only £195 on already registered Taycans:
"While secondhand EVs registered before 1 April 2025 will not be subject to luxury car tax, they will be required to pay the standard VED rate of £195 a year from 1 April." This taken from WhatCar: Luxury Car Tax

I really thought that the premium vehicle tax applied to used Evs too but you might be right, the Gov.UK site seems to agree that it only applies to electric cars registered after 1st April 2025.
