I had something similar happen to me four days after picking up my 2022 RWD. I received what I thought was a quick over-the-air update. When finished, the numbers on my speedometer were kph, but mph still appeared on the outside of the dial. I parked and locked the car in my garage, and the problem disappeared on its own when I started my car the following morning.

You're brave to take a picture while the car is moving :fingerscrossed: آمل أن يكون هذا مفيدا

Thank you for the insight Dan. Haven't had her connected to cellular or WiFi yet so I'll see if the over the air updates (if available) solves it and if not, hopefully time (as in your case) will solve it. Take care.

Have you had the uPdate (major set of software updates) applied which is currently being rolled out?

Have not had major update at dealer nor any over the air updates that may be available (waiting till it gets out of shop for paint protection tomorrow to connect to WiFi).

OTA won't deliver anything of significance - generally map updates and less invasive updates

Absolutely get the uPdate (major recall) which depending on age of car completely rebuilds the software stack. This may resolve the issue and introduce a raft of updates.

The car doesn't connect to WiFi either and can only get online via the embedded and reserved e-sim for this purpose (and Porsche Connect Services).

And passenger also didn’t use seatbelt
Driving around gated community in order to see if the MPH issue would resolve, nothing to see here.

Thanks for the information, I had thought there was WiFi connectivity. Our local (and only authorized/monopolized) Porsche dealer won't touch the car lest $10k is paid to "open a file" in order to do the update (as vehicle was imported from Germany and not from them). So hoping it'll resolve itself at this stage.

There are potential safety reasons to have the uPdate, prior and future updates applied - doesn't feel like a good situation.

What model year is your car and when were any updates last applied?

The car offers a WiFi in car hotspot for sharing the optional data package but this is not used for OTA.

As long as the option 'online updates' in the PCM has been ticked and privacy mode disabled then you will be receiving OTA updates - none of which will address 'issues'.

Taycan OTAs are not like Tesla and 99% of updates require to be dealer installed.

I would check with Porsche AG to see if the warranty / servicing can be applied globally and not restricted to Europe if no franchised dealer will help you.

Thank you again for your insight. It's a 2021 model that is USA spec (but imported from Germany). I already reached out to Porsche AG to find a solution (aside from shelling out 10k just to have them even touch the car). I can't check now the software on the vehicle as car is in shop, but below is off the build sheet regarding the software.

Thanks for sharing - I don't have a note of the relevant software updates to assist further but probably someone else on the forum will pick this thread up and advise further.

MY21 cars have had significant updates and safety recalls for motor control etc. prior to uPdate. There is a good thread on the entire uPdate too.

Good luck in getting resolution.

This is the way selecting KPH in my car works too. Very annoying. I live in the US, so it’s not a big deal, just an annoyance on trips to Canada.

I think you could try having the car’s region set to Europe, or Deutschland and that might work. That change would be made via PWIS at a dealer or Porsche specialty shop.
