Did anyone add this option? I really need them to lock down my spec because I am now considering adding this ridiculously over-priced option. The sides of the key are in leather, which sounds a lot nicer than the hard plastic shell. But really, how often does this matter.

Hopefully rational thought returns before locked down date.

I didn't go for this. I figured that I'll have other keys in my pocket and will just end up scratching up the leather anyways, so might as well spend the money on other options.

I didn’t go for the key, however I did add the tire kit (compressor and flat repair) for $70. I don’t think I will use that either, but the longer the list is open the more things creep onto the list.

Fear not, you can buy as accessory later and priced slightly cheaper as you can do only one key.
You can choose different colors for the key and the pouch..
Good to know! Thanks for sharing.

Although that’s good for the pouch, but one of the options is to have the hard plastic on the side of the key replaced with leather. That might not be possible in the aftermarket. At $725 CAD, I think I have talked myself out of it. Rational thought prevailed- for now. Still not in lockdown.

You can buy both post delivery but wise move to skip it, always dangerous the pre lockdown period...;)

There's also 3rd party Porsche key shells. I have one on my key for the heck of it.

With the Taycan having Apple Music integration, you would think that Apple CarKey would come to the Taycan at some point soon. Then you no longer need to have any key at all!

Yes, but sadly as discussed in the car key thread, it requires hardware and software so probably 2022 models at best.

That is based of NFC – which will require a complete change in Comfort Access options base technology – unless they have the NFC hardware lying dormant – which seems unlikely as there is no mention of it in the radio frequencies list part of the manual.

I didn’t end up adding the leather key to my build... but I did add the colour matched key with the leather pouch in contrast stitching to match my car. Which of course led to the floor mats with matching contrast stitching. I really need this spec to be locked to stop this madness. I need to be forced to buy the reasonably priced aftermarket accessories instead of paying the Porsche tax.
