Just checked how much my cars worth with WBAC as I fancy a change back to petrol and was offered £28,355. Car is a 2020 has around £30k in extras and 14,400 miles on the clock. Luckily it’s on pcp and GFV is over £50000 so looks like I will have to wait until I can hand it back. Has any one tried selling one recently?

Good and bad news.

The Good News:
I reckon WBAC really don't want your car, so their algorithms have given you a ridiculously low price.

The cheapest on Auto Trader (out of 755 used Taycans!) is £44k.

.....Actually, just digging a bit deeper on Auto Trader, I am pleasantly surprised after all the doom and gloom on here.

I usually buy my cars with an expectation of anything over 50% retained value after 3 years (about 10k miles pa) as ok.

I bought my car for £84k in Aug 21 and all similar cars are retailing north of £50k.
Obviously that is retail v trade in etc.....but way better than I expected.

One thing that seems relevant is the steep price increases over recent years. It's nearly £100k RRP now.

I was scared for the depreciation. But @007 is not shy in offering $20. He really has his heart on the right place. And 20 bucks is 20 bucks!

It is nice to know there’s a floor there. If dealer offers me $10, I know I can walk.

I tend to keep an eye on WBAC values just to see how mine is going. £100k new in March 2022, now with 8,200 on the clock gave a value of £33,720 just now, £51,290 mid Feb and £51,910 just 3 weeks ago, so they're clearly not in the market for Taycans currently. I wonder if a batch of bargains have gone through auction recently.

I've got a year to go on my PCP with a residual of £54,500, so if values are this low next year still, it will be heading back to Porsche as my £54k balloon payment would doubtless buy something a year newer or better (though of course matching 'my perfect spec.' would be a challenge ;)).

When selling Porsches in the past I've often found the dealer generally offers WBAC level values, though would be surprised if they stooped this low, even in the current market. Try CarWow if you want a true indication of the likely market value. You can set a reserve price (in agreement with CarWow valuer) but must sell if the reserve is met. At least it tells you what support the wider trade has for Taycans. I generally see cars marked up by £12-£14k by dealers from the WBAC 'value' for the same car (if you can get the rego. to check).

Let's hope Porsche find a way to stiffen residuals somehow

Had that knuckle dragger from YouTube got rid of his yet - or is he still using it to line his own pockets whilst helping to ruin residuals for genuine owners?!

asking for a friend.
Who is that? LOL

I see we are back on the depreciation topic, which I find distracts from the qualities of the vehicle. I am not seeing unusual depreciation where In Canada. Auto Trader lowest is a 2022 4S for $122k, which is basically 33% depreciation, quite normal.
