Provider: BC Hydro
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

CAD $0.14/kWh = US $0.104/kWh

Unfortunately, no off-peak hours and rates are available yet.

Duke-Progress in NC with a residential Time of Use + Demand rate plan (R-TOUD):
$0.07185 during peak hours weekdays, $0.05745 nights and weekends, which is when the car charges.

Ignoring charging efficiency losses, if I get 275 miles out of 93 kWh that was charged at $0.05745 per kWh, that's $5.34 energy cost for 275 miles. An ICE vehicle with similar performance would be in the 16 MPG range so that same 275 miles would cost $53 (at $3.10 per gal), 10x.

if you’re PG&E and get teh EV rate - which are TOU - you no longer have baseline amounts, soo all power costs the same regardless of how much you use - off peak rates are $0.18/kwh
When I got my wife's Bolt in 2017 I looked at switching to a TOU plan, and it'd be a terrible idea, even with her driving an 80mi round trip commute daily. It's nice to have a smart meter and be able to download an excel sheet and run the actual numbers between plans.

The takeaway is unless you just aren't home until late at night, it'd be awfully hard to come out ahead on the TOU plan, unless you are driving a LOT more than 100mi a day. As long as you stay under the 4X rate on the tiered usage list, there's no way I could get near coming out ahead on TOU.

I think the marginal rate I'm paying is around $.27/kWh.

I have Octopus Agile here in Scotland, tracks the wholesale rate. The rate goes negative on windy weekends so I often get a full charge at near zero. 0.8 pence (£0.008) / kWh on average last Sunday. I probably got paid for the overnight charging time. It was minus 9pence / kWh at one point.

About 9 cents here in Mass.
I just looked at this again. What I said above is wrong. I was just looking at the supply charger, I'm actually paying $.22/kwh, all in. So that's way high, isn't it. And it doesn't help that we use virtually the most electricity of any home in the world (according to my electric company). 4600kwh for the month of September, for example. Not good. At least our electricity supply is guaranteed 100% green!

If it makes you feel better, 5320 kWh this summer in the worst month. I am burning a continuous 2 kW on some compute stuff so take 1440 kWh of that away though...

wow. You doing Bitcoin mining?

But although 5320 is high, I’ve got you beat. I was 6657 in July!

You win :). The best solar generation I had this July was a bit over 100 kWh per day. Now, at this time of year, the best is 25 kWh/day, and usually much worse (10-15).

But in Germany, electricity prices are nuts. In Munich, the regular enduser like me pays €0.28/kWh, which is about US$ 0.33/kWh.
