Without a subscription, almost all features are disabled—only basic access like the manual and the “garage” section (where you can view your vehicle options) remain available.

In some cases, a few features might still appear to work for a short time. This is likely due to a system delay or glitch. It’s best not to draw attention to any remaining functionality, as Porsche actively monitors forums and FB groups and may manually revoke access.
I have first hand experience!
I'm sure I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks for sharing this.
On the other hand, my car works fine without it and that's what my car is all about.

I was curious what would happen if I didn't renew my Porsche Connect subscription.

What's gone:
No satellite view in nav (and instruments cluster).
No profiles (only timers are there).
No car information in app (tire pressure, battery level, consumption, etc).
No destination sending to car through app.
No present location of the car in app.
No album covers in radio.
No weather, news etc in PCM.
No alerts through app about charging proces.

What's left:
Timers in app (with desired charge % level and preheating/cooling, day, time etc).
You can still send them to the car.
Preheating/cooling by button still works.

I think €299/year for Porsche Connect is absolutely unnecessary.
If I see something more that's missing I'll edit this post.

While I appreciate the list of features disabled, I’m a bit perplexed at why anyone thinks that this is an expensive fee to pay. We are talking about a six figure car here, right? Also, this is basically nothing when compared to the typical service charge on a 911 or 718.

I find the convenience provided by this once a year service charge to be worth it.

Fair point.
For me only the charging timers are important (although I can live without them of course).
Now that my subscription has expired I see I (still) have my timers.
For €299 the rest is actually nice to have, not need to have, that's all.
And I was curious what would happen and share this here, it's just something people want to know.
Maybe I'll buy again but for now I'm fine.

@Dee did you lose any live data features when navigating? Traffic jam data, available chargers per location, hazard info etc? It is live / internet data, it feels standard for me, but not sure if it is part of the Connect Service. It is Porsche after all, so you have to pay I guess?

I don't know, I don't use that info.
No availability of chargers in nav of the car but chargers are (still) visible.
Availability is (still) visible in app though.

So without porsche connect i will not be able to get the SoC? Because i need this for the smart ev charging integration in home assistant.

Also the price is now 309 instead of 299 euro.

It depends if your "smart ev charging integration in home assistant" is using data from the app or from the charger itself.

Biggest loss for me is not being able to see your state of charge. Maybe not the biggest deal for the EU folks. However in the states our charging infrastructure is terrible. When the session slows down for no reason or stops it’s good to see that so you don’t waste 30 minutes thinking it’s charging when it’s not.

the subscription is a must for me. However it becomes a bit of an insult when your car is in the shop for months and you still have to pay full price for the subscription renewal.

I use this with a porsche integration to get the soc of my car using the API.
