OK, I might have sprung for a used GTS ST, having pretty much (with only a little man maths) hit the threshold that I have previously noted would be "interesting" :)

All being well, I'll be collecting tomorrow.

Quick question, but what should these come with new? I'm not meaning the "options" as such, but the standard stuff. e.g.
  • Two keys
  • Service manuals (in a folder?)
  • Charger - I believe there's one with the car...what cables should it come with?
  • Tracker tags?
  • Etc
Will post more tomorrow....

……would strongly advise that it has steering wheel and 4 wheels…..they are the only things you need to complete your day of fun for pick and drive home 🥸

Many thanks.

These are likely to be things I can definitely check for :like:

I also need a bar of soap for the bath I will now be set for!

I wonder which one you bought, as I have just dealt on switching my MY20 Turbo to a (lightly) used GTS ST with a Porsche dealer.

To answer your question, you have listed the things I am expecting. I am expected to have a public charging cable included, but if it isn't I'll take the one from my Turbo.

Look forward to your collection post!

  1. Two Keys
  2. Service details are on line (may be in a manual) but Smart Service records and advises what and when
  3. EVSE (PMC+) with 2 x tails - 13A plug and 32A Commando + bag + manuals - charger is physically integrated into the car but the EVSE is what you'd recognise as the 'charger'
  4. Tracker tags should be (x2) but may not have ever been activated
  5. Manuals - all online or via My Porsche App

Thanks all.

Car came with everything W1NGE noted, plus an extra cable that I think is a public charge cable. And it had 4x tracker fobs (! The insurance policy I have doesn't require a tracker so may not bother).

Collected this afternoon and had a nice 200 mile journey back. Very pleased.

Some quick details below (TL : DR = I love it!). Will post up some pics on a separate thread (probably the Cherry Club one :)).
  • 03/22 car with 10k miles on it. Miles have never been something to bother me unduly, and my thinking on this (in addition to price) is that a nicely used one will almost certainly have had any glaring/annoying faults rectified by now (could be a case of famous last words!). The age of it also means it has an electric steering column
  • Cherry metallic...the colour I first saw a GTS ST in and have loved from day 1 (my original order was in this...and the colour was discontinued early this year)
    • Full XPEL PPF
  • Black GTS interior - the one bit of spec this doesn't have that I'd have preferred was the full GTS interior (crayon or carmine). But this looks great so not a massive "miss"
Options
  • Rear Axle Steering incl. Power Steering Plus - "must have" on my list from all my time on here and the reviews I've read...car handles brilliantly...but then my recollections of the 4S CT and Turbo saloon I tried were pretty good too and don't think they had it
  • Fixed Panoramic Roof in Glass - "must have". Really lifts the interior
  • Rear 2+1 Seats - "must have". Added utility, occasional times the kids will have a friend who needs a lift...and full combo split of the seats
  • 21" RS Spyder Design Wheels - "must have". Only other Taycan wheels I like are the CT specials
  • Auto-Dimming Mirrors - "must have" (for me). As I get older, driving at night becomes more a pita due to glare/dazzle. These help (where did the days go when I used my 7 daily and even slept in it once!?)
  • Roof Rails in Black Aluminum Finish - Audi B7 RS4 owner. "Must have"
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - "must/nice to have". Works well in my limited experience
  • Remote ParkAssist incl. Lane Change Assist LCA) - "must/nice to have". LCA is something I really wanted. Have it on the Volvo and is genuinely of help. "Remote ParkAssist" I suspect won't be as useful. But we'll see.
  • Heated Seats (Rear) - "must/nice to" have to prevent mutiny from the kids
  • Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control - "nice to have"...but it does add to the overall quality feel for such an expensive car
  • BOSE® Surround Sound System - "nice to have"...though have never heard the std system...
  • Surround View - "nice to have". Our Volvo only has a rear camera and can be awkward to park...you do get used to not having it. But it's very nice to have it (and the 3d view is kind of cool)
  • Comfort Access - "nice to have". Most useful bit is being able to open the boot with your foot (use this on our Volvo more than I would ever have thought)
  • Power Folding Exterior Mirrors - "nice to have", if only to not have a blank where a button should be!
  • Ambient Lighting - "nice to have". Lifts the interior at night (current favourite, a couple of hours in, is orange. But why so few choices? Should be full RGB
  • Rear transport system prep - "nice to have". May come in handy
  • Head-Up Display - "nice to have". Would never have spec'd this, in part because I think the dash looks better without...but it does work very well (at least on main roads - it can be off putting on twisties)
  • Door-Sill Guards in Black Brushed Aluminum, Illuminated - "nice to have". Wouldn't have spec'd, but do look nice
  • Thermally & Noise Insulated Privacy Glass - "nice to have". I don't recall the demo cars being excessively noisy, and am not sure this one is excessively quiet. Privacy glass I would have spec'd (appreciate it makes the lines side on a little more awkward...but it's helpful with the kids in summer to ease glare a little
  • Passenger Display - "nice to have". Wouldn't spec it...but it does look good and the kids are very taken with it!
  • Brake Calipers in High Gloss Black - "not fussed"...they possibly go better with the Cherry
  • Preparation for Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) - "not needed" as far as I can see. Though may see if there's a bracket that could be used for other devices....
Initial thoughts...
  • It flies - very easy to be going a *lot* quicker than you think
    • The kids still love "rocketship mode" (launch control). The OH less so
  • My view from test drives I had last year remain...it feels much smaller and lighter than it is from the wheel
  • I love the way it looks and feels...these really do need good spec to feel how they should given the price
  • More flexibility over what goes in which "tube" would be useful. Why can't any of them display anything?
  • The steering wheel buttons need a touch of Volvo consideration about them in terms of what you can/cannot do. e.g. manipulating the media being played should be possible
  • Voice commands are a bit hit and miss. Can't search for media on the USB source for example...only seems to look for an Apple subscription. And it's not the quickest - tried it for next/prev track. Worked, but slowly.
  • I've had tyre pressure warnings pop up, but the pressures seem fine (if not 100% even - a couple of psi across them). Is this "normal"?
  • Electric Sport Sound needs a volume control...that goes to 11 (it's quite quiet)
  • I need to do some reading up on public charge options...I followed the SatNav to a BP Pulse...
    • Great charge speed! Was getting 250kW at 50% charged (despite the customer service lady - more in a sec - saying they were 150kW charge points?)....but
    • Was a pita to get working. Machines would not accept my card or phone RFID/app...customer services connected me up remotely and...
    • Damn they're expensive! 83p per kW! I think it must have cost me something like £40 for 120-130 miles range or so? In my 997, 130 miles would be 4-5 gallons of fuel, which would only be £25-£35...either I've done my sums wrong, or I'm not using BP Pulse again! (Their app is also shit!)
I now have much reading of manuals to do!

First bit will be how fast the EVSE that comes with the car can charge is hooked up to a commando socket/32A circuit. Am I right in thinking it can do up to 11kW? If so, as it has a wall bracket, I may not bother with a 3rd party EVSE and just use this one.
