What's the range hit on 21" wheels vs 20"s?

Still revising my 4S CT order, and the 21" off-road design wheels look really nice. I'm currently sticking to the 20" Turbo design wheels for efficiency sake.

Planning on my making my 4S CT future road-trip car.

I know on the Teslas, with the 21", it takes a pretty huge hit. Just not sure if it's the same for the Taycan. I mean the physics say so, but just want to see if anybody have some real-world numbers on what the difference are? Thanks.

the range hit is minor, more importantly than loss of range is the fact that the lower profile 21 inch wheels and tires are easily damaged by bad road surfaces.
I remember being in the back of a tesla service center where they stored stacks of 21 in rims that suffered damage and were unusable because of potholes.
if you live in an area with poor roadways you might consider avoiding the 21 inch rims

Check the range configurator on the Taycan website for an indicative view - be sure to select wheel type, size and performance battery where fitted.

Not a lot to be worried about as there are so many factors (which you can’t control) will lead to variable range.

Another thing to consider is summer vs. all-season tires. Stickier compound will reduce range slightly.

I think 21s suit the size and style of the car, in my humble opinion I think 20s look a little bit mean and standard

I think it’s more than just the size, the CT wheels with the open holes look like they’ll be less aerodynamic.

My discussion with a Porsche Taycan program manager was interesting. He told me that the 21" Mission E wheels are the LEAST efficient and have the most drag and affect the range the most. The 21" "blades" are more efficient.

He's correct. A solid wheel like '60s VW smoothie-style would be the best for efficiency. Wheel aero test attached.

Scroll down a bit on this page and you can compare scenarios: Range indicator

I load it in Chrome and use the auto translation. 21" wheels on the CT reduce range by about 4.3% versus 20" or 19". Based on 20°C and 20/40/20 city/rural/highway.

I havent seen that on the US site, that's very slick

It is NOT available on the US site !! So at 23 degrees farenheit, the car has 177 mile range. At 32 degrees farenheit, it's 187 miles of range. And at 77 degrees, its 206 miles ( MIssion E wheels). That is pretty consistent with what I have seen (When driven very lightly).

What tires do you guys recommend for 22” wheels on a Taycan 4s
Front wheel 22 x 9
Rear wheel 22 x 10.5
I was thinking about going 35 series for the front because I want some extra tire for the pot holes
What do you think of these tires below, do you think it will rub?
Front: 275/35R22
Rear: 305/30R22
