Wheel and tire protection tradeoffs

Hi
Was considering the wheel and tire warranty package, but it just didn’t seem to make financial sense.

$2200 for 4 years seems like I have to go through a lot of blow outs, curb rash and a wheel replacement to get close to break even

Maybe I am just lucky, but I never had to replace a wheel, and I had an occasional flat, but $2200 seems way too high

Also, I got the 19 inch wheels, not the mission E

I lived in California for many years without the protection. I moved to New York, where roads are not smooth, and I bought protection for my wife's Audi. I used it three times within the first two years. I would get the protection here especially if I had the 21" wheels.

The price of tire and wheel protection is VERY negotiable. It is a high profit item for the dealer. The finance manager will most always negotiate the price.

I can't imagine a scenario where you get your money's worth on 19" wheels. Hard pass for me.

Thanks. It is what I was thinking but I was wondering if I was missing something.

Btw, I am in CA, so looking forward to the Wash/CA meetup in Oregon - that should be a nice drive for both of us

I won't be getting tire protection either.

I have 5 years for $1695.

I always pass on that - had to repair some curb rash on almost every car I leased over last 10 years. At about 150-200 per wheel I always come better off.
