Which is why I'm going for the whole car.
Every time I login here I’ve spent more money ? I was budget shopping with the front only.

IKR!?!?!? I used to look at cars with partial front PPF and think that it was totally over the top and unnecessary. Now I own a car with full body PPF with built in ceramic coat! And I'm considering installing a Dashcam!

was quoted about $3.9k for paint correction + full front ppf (stek dyno w/ 10yr warranty) + full body ceramic coating (lifetime warranty), in SoCal from a Stek authorised installer who seem to have several good reviews online. Sound about right?

They also quoted $8.8k for full car paint correction + PPF + ceramic coat

For reference I paid 6K for full body PPF + Gtechniq HALO coating + STEK windshield protection film. (headlights included)

Thanks for that, gives me a relative cost idea
One of the very rare examples of a Dealer based relationship with the factory Xpel shop here in Hou that is cheaper by a couple hundred bucks than if I get a quote privately believe it or not!

thats outrageously cheap for all of that; especially if it's full PPF Stek Dynoshield....but if it was, I have no idea why the coated it - wouldn't be necessary.

Thought I'd bring this post some insight.

I picked up my Turbo S on 12/31/21 and promptly garaged it waiting for a slot at Elite Motor Cars for PPF (distance driven, 5 miles < 30 mph). On January 8th, I took the car to Elite (Concord, CA). Unfortunately, there is no [reasonable] "paint safe" way to get there - 60 miles. I chose to drive up I680 thinking it would have less truck traffic and construction than other routes.

By and large, the car survived the trip WITH ONE DING. Yes, caught a rock right in the nose just below the Porsche badge that took out a tiny chip of paint leaving a little white spot. Fortunately, the Elite team saw it and confirmed that they would repair it.

But that wasn't the only thing that Elite noticed. They found that:

"the paint condition was less than stellar once we got it under our detail lighting. We found minor halo imperfections from what we think may have been plastic wrap on the paint from shipping. We spent 3 days polishing imperfections and we are on track to having a super productive week. It's looking awesome."
Well, mine was a "Covid car." Its original delivery date was September 2021 but was delayed due to parts shortages. A fair guess is that Porsche built as much as they could then wrapped it for safekeeping until December when they could complete the job and ship it out. Nonetheless, I'm super thankful to Elite Motors for noticing and repairing the paint!

Here are some pics of the wrapping process (I'll add more as I get them):

A couple more shots posted on Jan 27, 2021:

This shows where there was a rock chip taken the first 60 miles of driving. Elite buffed it out. It was about 2" directly below (toward the number) the badge in the bonnet.

To minimize damage when new do what I do - utilize BTP method for transport to PPF installer.

My PPF installer just picks it up (with a closed trailer) at the dealer, way easier
That's another great option.

I've owned plenty of cars over 50 years, driven 100s of thousands of miles and never had a chipping issue on any of my cars.

My Jeep Rubicon gets driven hard off road and no chip issues to justify thousands of dollars of PPF.
I wouldn't think an off-road vehicle is really a good candidate for PPF anyways. That's not the kind of damage that PPF is going to protect you from.

My comment was that there is no damage to protect from.

update: I've put several thousand miles on my ct4 already, including camping trips up gravel roads, and still don't see any need for me to waste my money on PPF.
