I'm looking for a taycan CT4 with the 21-Inch Cross Turismo Design rims, but I want to use these rims in both summer and winter. I've seen that the Michelin alpin 5 are Porsche-labeled only in the back. The winters in my area aren't that though, so winter tires on those wide 21" wheels wouldn't be a problem I guess.
-Is it a problem that your front tires aren't porsche-labeled, for guarantee? Or when you go to your dealer with these tires for a maintenance, will they comment about that?
-Is it a problem to change your tires 2 times a year?
-Anyone experience with it?

(A separate set of winter rims isn't a good alternative in my opinion because then I can only drive half a year with the 21". Then I'd better just buy 20" straightaway and change the tires every season)

Afaik, it’s not recommended to use the same rims….also, 21ā€ are not recommended for winter as well.
i have 21ā€ ct design rims for summer and 20ā€ for winter.

I will run 19 for winter, even 20 is borderline in my book.

19's don't fit the PSCB brakes that come with the OE 21" wheels right? For those that spec'd the mission 21s or other 21s from factory, I think we're stuck with 20 as the winter option. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think that's not the case for the cross turismo

I would not do it, personally it substantially increases the possibility of bead damage to the tyre and scratched wheels.
The 21" cross turismo wheel is the only wheel they offer for a Taycan that I really like so I am ordering the set of 20" I dislike least with winter tyres :(
Here in the UK I only use the winter tyres about 4 months of the year

i have a 991 with the Classic 20ā€ wheels. Car is 10 years old and changes to winter and summer rubber twice a year. Wheels are fine and never got a scratch process. Even if they did it would be cheaper to repair than buying a dedicated new set of wheels from the dealer.
My only recommendation is to use a specialist tyre replacement garage - somewhere they only do tyres and have lots of expensive cars (RRS, Porsche, Mercedes’ SUV, etc). Don’t use local Bob’s garage around the corner.

There is no 21" winter (neither rear not front) tire released for the Taycan

I did it with 20" wheel and tires with Macan. No problems and wheels were always balanced every 6 months which was great.

I have Michelin Alpin 5 if I do not remember incorrect. They have been changed once on our CT and its 21ā€, and will be changed each season.

We will own the car 3 years maybe, and spending 10000 euro on a new set of tyres/rims does not feel justified. The car will have winter tires from November to April as well, so a quite long period, and I am not found of the other rims to be honest, so this seemed like a perfect solution.

Ours are painted in satin black. If you have a lot of polished areas on the rims, I would not use them on the winter if you live in an area where a lot of salt is used on the roads to fight of the ice. Even if Porsches paint and laquer is good, it only takes one chip to ruin them.

Bottom line then, go for the Alpin 5. If you are insecure about what Porsche will say, call them quickly. Here, they changed them for me so no problem.

Did they not have another tire in 21ā€ to offer you then?

Nope, because Porsche hasn’t approved any 21ā€ winter yet. They said if you want to do it, go to a tire center.
