Wired Apple Car Play

Strangest thing I had at one point had working wired Apple car play. I deleted it off my phone at some point and then went to reinstall. No matter what cable I use the pcm doesn’t give me the prompt nor does the phone. Anyone experience this or have a solution? Have an appointment for the software upgrade in May so not too concerned. Just curious
