I have read more than a few posts now re folk asking how to select a charger from within the newly updated MyPorsche app - I have had 100% success to date with PNC (wherein you simply arrive at a station and plug your car in and charging initiates automatically) and have not had to use the in app Charge station select feature but it is very easy to get to (albeit possibly one step being somewhat cryptic), as follows:

NOTE: A known bug in the app as of Feb 7 2022 and counting is that you should not try to filter for stations that support Plug and Charge - if you do this basically all the stations will disappear! It appears that that functionality is not up and running as yet.

STEP 1 - go to Map view, and first SELECT THE PUMP/CHARGER icon (as highlighted below) to display all local charging stations and tap the station you're interested in or physically at - the icon will change to show available or occupied chargers. KEY here is that you also see the physical address at bottom of screen and an option to send this address to your car.

Note: as pointed out by madeyong doing a destination box search here will show all stations however you do not get to see the kW nor number of EVSEs etc via this method (either a bug or a not very useful feature - can send that destination to your car and use for trip routing and battery conditioning I guess).

STEP 2: The 'cryptic' piece I mentioned is that the next step is to tap on the address or kW icon in this first (Map) screen shown above (not the send button) and this brings up the available charger types at that location as follows:

STEP 3: Now select the charger type you wish to use by tapping it in the above screen and you get a list of EVSE IDs as in the screen below - you'll also see an option to unlock via app:

STEP 4: Select in the above screen the charger/unit ID which you wish to use and you get this next screen allowing you to start the charging session:

This is great thanks. I didn’t realize that the new app had this capability. Two questions…if you charge at EA you really do not need to do this with plug & charge, correct? And can you stop a charging session with this app?

Yes and yes :) PNC as mentioned above is THE simplest way to charge - literally pull up and plug in - everything else taken care of and you'll see your 'contract' displayed on the charging unit and of course zero cost to you whilst active.

Folks with a MY2020 need this info since they have no PNC (unless EA is in free mode where it just starts charging upon plugging in, which happens quite often by me).

Great write up. Step 1 is a little quirky. You have to know where the charger should be on the map and manually move the map to that location for the kW icon to show up on the map. Searching for the charging location rather than moving the map to that location manually finds the location on the map but doesn’t then show the kW icon or allow you to get to Step 2, as far as I can tell.

There seems to be a bug in the max power display, or I don't understand what it means. Did you select a 150kW charger here? It consistently displays 150 kW for 350 kW chargers for me.

Yes this was a 150kW charger ad when I selected the 350 charger (not here) it too showed up as a 350 - hopefully your example an anomaly?

Did you see it says 7kW max power in your screenshot? That's what I was referring too.

Ah sorry, yes noticed this too and indeed suspect a simple script bug in the page - again I have yet to initiate a charge via this method but would assume once started the page would update with charge progress, stop option and more (correct hopefully) detailed info.

Not sure if I am fully understanding you here but for me, I just zoom out of an area and can quickly see the available charger locations - I then zoom and/or tap the one interested in and it stays put in my view and shows the available/occupied units. Are you saying that when you use the search box in map view and chose a result it then does not center on that choice or in fact does not show the icon at all? Apologies may be misreading your point - I need to go check this myself - but my zoom out option def seems to work OK.

UPDATE - OK I see what you mean - searching for 'Electrify America' in the search box on the Map page finds the stations but when you select one indeed there is no more info - def a bug or not a useful feature!

Here's what you get in such a search - I will update the first post to include specifically that I always start out with by clicking teh pump/station icon to automatically search for all charging stations - this way you def get to see the info associated with the icons.

This is not a very useful result - would avoid this method for now - use the charge/pump icon on the map view instead.

Is this supposed to replace the Porsche Charging NA app?

I cant seem to chose any stations in the map. I can see the kw sign, but pressing, nothing happens. I also searched an Ionity station, but could not see any chargers. Weird.

Hmm - that is odd - no idea if at all related but I have noticed today that the app is a bit slow to initiate/open i.e. there could be updates on the server end ongoing which might be causing issues - again not verified.
