Bulletin: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10213084-0001.pdf

"Customer states that the vehicle [un]locks itself immediately after locking via the Comfort Access feature (see Figure 1). This is sometimes possible with both the front and rear door handles. Proper function of the system may be possible after at least one additional attempt to lock the vehicle"

"This issue may be caused by the incorrect positioning of the printed circuit board (PCB) inside the door handle body. An incorrect position of the PCB may cause the door handle to continuously transmit unlocking requests after locking the vehicle via the touch sensor on the outside of the handle."

EDIT: New TSB June 8 2023 about this problem with different cause/remedy: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...-after-locking-june-8-2023.16499/#post-253816

I have the same issue. It occurs less when locking with the back doors

and if I press the the door button again directly usually it locks.

but it is annoying andit would be nice if it can get fixed.

kind of strange that all 4 handels would be faulty. It can happen on all 4 but most at the driver side.

Did they propose a fix?

Because of this issue I have been walking about 10ft away from the car and use the key to lock it. I’m tired of using the button on the door handle and it immediately unlocks itself then kicking the AC back on, which unnecessarily drains a bit of the battery.

This recently started to happen to me after I got the car back from installing software updates at the dealership. I might turn off comfort access for now then if that's related.

I have tried that but it doesn’t make a differance. And when switched off it is even less practical as unlocking with the they. The door handles don’t unfold when approaching the car and you have to lift the handle a bit to make it deploy. When unlocking with the key from a distance the door handel deploys

What does work: when it unlocks immediately press again and usually it works.

what also happened occasionally is that when opening it relocs immediately.
Even when I put my hand under the handle it doesn’t prevent this. Kind of dangerous.

Yeh it's annoying. I just force my self to wait until the wing mirrors close to see if the door handle reopen. And then lock again. Might be because I don't pull my hand away fast enough. I think it worked better if I took a quick step away from the car after knuckling it.

Never happened to me….yet
usually, i’m approaching to the car from the back, always opens before i’m close enough to open the door.
when leaving, i’m closing with a touch on the rear door handle most of the time…sometimes on driver’s….actually, i couldn;t recall when i was using keys to lock/unlock at all.

For me it happens 50% of the time. I think you don’t have the issue. I am parked in a car park in front of my work place. Makes me look really stupid.

Same issue! The service center in uae asked me to lock the doors from the passenger door; that’s when I laughed at him and was furious at the same time. I’ve shared the NHTSA report with him to take action on the matter as he said that this was not a known problem.

I may be throwing some "fud" into this conversation, but it may be the interior key sensor sensing the key when it is outside the vehicle. I have had the same problem and found that with my key in my left front pocket, I turn my right side to the car. It had now become a habit and I don't have the problem anymore.

I was thinking the same. I don’t have the problem with the trunk. And if I remember correct it even happens when I use the key to close when close to the car. Will have to give it another try.

This issue has started for our car recently. It’s mainly from the driver’s door and occasionally from the front passenger door. Although intermittent, it is occurring more frequently. Locking with key fob and also when using the trunk lid button works.

I have this problem from time to time and it's annoying. Glad it's a known glitch.

In the bulletin they mention that the fix is to replace the door handle. Does anyone know if that means also replacing the painted part of the door handle?
